Carnegie Mellon 98.7% over CHICAGO

5-6 But with Geneva winning and Bethany not.

Massey favors Widener over Geneva , Marietta over Westminster and Thiel a toss-up (!?)  He gives Bethany a greater chance of winning, but only 46%

I'm a Thiel fan and thought the 50/50 shot against Concordia was surprising as well!

Just saw CWRU's opening week depth chart.

https://athletics.case.edu/documents/2025/9/3/fb_ROWAN_game_notes25-2.pdf

We are big and very experienced on the O-line.

But our D-line seems puny.

I hope that we can stop people up front, because that appears to be a challenge.

With this big, senior Oline and Filips at QB, I suspect we'll be able to move the ball decently though.  We'll see.

Notably, Henry Busch who had started 19 straight games at OLB is not on the two deep. He was not dressed for the scrimmage, but showed no sign of injury. He he was even part of the chain gang. Starting is SO Vinny Hack who at 6'2 220 is the biggest of the starting LBs and bigger than the starting DEs.  The middle of the DL is anchored by SO Jack Tierney (5'9, 255), who was the back-up last season.

Newly listed on the website roster, but not on the Game Notes roster, is FY Brock Gillespie, OL 6'3 275, who was on FCS Colgate's Signing Day Roster.

The FCS GT from Lafayette, Gus Salopek, is listed as back-up LT.

I also noted 10 SO among the 22-position players. 3 O & 7 D

Marietta up on Westminster 6-0 at half. Westminster is missing Ryan Gomes. They only have 32 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

D3 Poster

Titans had 77 yards rushing tonight and 78 yards rushing last year vs Marietta. Couldn't get the big turnovers this year.  Both teams look tough defensively, offenses works in progress.

ADL70

Marietta 12-8, Marietta outgained Westminster 365-183

It was funny how the stats between the two games mirrored each other. The only big difference was Marietta taking care of the ball. Both teams seemed to match up similarly, despite graduation losses.

Ugh, CWRU seemed likely to go up 21-7 when the QB coughed it up at the goal line and Rowan took it 97ish yards back for a TD.

Now 14-14.

Even worse news.  Starting QB Filips appears to have been injured on that play and is out.

Ugh.  Another lightning delay.  CWRU down 17-14 after a blocked punt followed by a Rowan FG.

At least this delay will allow a revised plan for DeTillio or to get Fillips fit to play again.

Game called for weather as a 17-17 tie.

I hope that Filips is ok.

We were really moving the ball until he got hurt.

I have no clue where the Spartan's last three points came from.

I expect that the game will ultimately be declared "no contest." That's how the UC Davis-Mercer game two weeks ago which likewise was called for weather was reported. No stats will count.

Other injured players I noticed included Mitchell Waite who was in shorts and Alec Angelo whose right arm was in a sling.

In other PAC action Grove City upset Cortland 31-14 while Utica beat W&J 49-31. Bethany, Geneva, and Waynesburg all got smoked.

Next week's Spartan opponent, Wabash hung a double-nickel on St Norbert, winning by 34.
