CWRU's 2026 roster is now posted.

https://athletics.case.edu/sports/football/roster

Large crop of newcomers (39 or so), one of which, as mentioned, is Beltran from Bates, who is penciled in as a "WR."  The kid from Wofford is listed as a TE/HB, and a sophomore.  I assume that if he had the talent to get a I-FCS offer, he should be able to contribute immediately.

Filips and Detillio return as QBs, and there is more than one back up listed, so plenty of depth in that room.

ADL70, any thoughts on who starts on O-line and D-line?

My thoughts:

QB Filips #1 of course. DeTillio? He could be used under center in the short yardage double wing or getting the direct snap in wildcat. But since he was far and away the leading rusher last season, it wouldn't surprise me to see him as the #1 RB. Olsen backed up DeTillio and mostly shared the position later in the season. He is a senior academically, but his first two years were at FCS Merrimack without playing any. He could return for a GR year. The intriguing FY is Bryson. He graduated HS in 2025 and played last season at a prep school, so still has four seasons of eligibility. His social media suggested that he would enroll in January which should mean that he could have participated in spring practice. At 6'4 210 he has size that hasn't been seen at QB for at least a dozen years. He should get pt and potentially be a 3-year starter.

TE/HB Only one returner a senior who had limited pt. Maisenbacher is only one of six newcomers listed at that spot, but certainly looks like the likely starter.

OL DiDona is the only returning starter. He started at C as a sophomore last season. Petrucci played in 8 games last season, but mostly for PK snaps although also backed up at RG. Meschede also played in 8 games as backup LG. Granger and Casper each played in 4 games. There is interesting size among the FYs. Only one senior is on the roster, so there is the potential for a unit to play two season together.

DL Tierny started at NG as a soph and earned PAC HM notice. Last season DEs were seniors who weighed 205 and 215, while the backups who return are Clark JR 245 and Reichert SR 220. FYs include some size that hasn't been seen in a awhile.

Ouch!  Sounds like a pretty big rebuilding year in the trenches.

I hope we don't take a step back, given that.
