Halftime in Kenosha:

Millikin 27
Carthage 23

If not for a trey by reserve Jon Cieski with five seconds left, this debacle of a half would've been even worse for the homestanding Red Men. MU outshot CC 44% (10-23) to 38% (8-21). MU didn't attempt a trey, while Carthage -- which has done very well from beyond the arc in CCIW play -- is only 2-9 for 22% in that department. MU is 7-8 from the line, CC is 5-8. Plus, the Big Blue has five more boards and one fewer turnover than does Carthage.

All in all, a great half if you're Marc Smith, and an excuse to scream in the locker room if you're Bosko Djurickovic.

Devin Demby has ten points for MU, while Steve Djurickovic and Tyler Pierce lead CC with eight apiece.

Whatever Bosko told his charges at halftime seems to have been taken to heart. Carthage now leads Millikin, 30-27, two minutes into the second half.

This one's pretty interesting thus far. Carthage leads Millikin, 36-33, with 14:04 left in the game.

This continues to be a crazy, difficult-to-predict CCIW season.

CC 48, MU 37, 9:30 to go.

Carthage had a 9-0 run to open up some separation, and after a pair of Sed Ferguson FTs Melcom Kelly struck back with a trey to give Carthage its biggest lead of the game.

Colby Long comes right back with a trey to bring the CC lead back down to eight. CC immediately called timeout with 9:07 left. It was MU's first trey attempt of the ballgame.

Lots of whistles in this one. Raul Guzman has four fouls for Carthage, Steve D. and Cody Hilton have three apiece. Corey Mitchell has four for MU. It's 50-40, Carthage, with seven and a half minutes remaining.

With under 7 to go, and Millikin down 10, it's difficult to imagine Millikin mounting a 10 point comeback.  This year, Carthage is deep enough to withstand the foul trouble.

five and a half to go, still a 10 point lead.

I can hear the "this one's over" chants sailing down I 94 even as we speak, read or write.
