Reminder that the Elmhurst/Chicago game is on the Internet at http://www.wrse.com  or conventional radio at 88.7FM.
We will go on at 5:30-5:45ish CST  for a 6pm CST start.
I am anxious to see the newly renovated Stagg Field.

Do you know that Chicago is the only school to have never lost to Notre Dame?  Or that Chicago is the only school in the Big 10 (past and present) to have a winning record against Michigan?

I love going to U of C because there is so much history on that campus.  I think EC gets this game because their D-Line is older, quicker, and matches up much better at the LB/SS slots.   Then again, usually when these two schools face off against each other, it is a high scoring affair.

The field looks really really good.  UofC has really invested in its campus of the past decade (I would know I live three bocks from the campus) thier athletic fields have never looked nicer...even when the field glowed green after the Manhattan project ;)

I'll be at the NC game otherwise I'd be at the EC UofC game. Good Luck to the 'Jays.  I think you're definetly right the Defesne (and especially the D-Line) is a big plus for EC this year.  I like the O too, but the D really stepped up against BU two weeks ago and I think is thier strength. Maple is a beast and the D-line looked like it had 8 guys they could put in with good size and ability.

Andy Studebaker is fine.  His only problem is having to deal with double and triple teams.  He'll be fine when he watches the rest of the Wheaton D clean-up becuase of it.  He'll get his.  I'm not worried about that at all.

I don't think people were commenting on why he wasn't racking up any stats its more to do with the question of if he is healthy.  I think if he was "fine" the coaches wouldn't have kept him out.  His "watching the Wheaton D clean up" has come from the sidelines according to some of the other Wheaton posters.

I wish him the best an that he truely is "fine" (Although I hope our OT's can keep him out of the NCC backfield in a few weeks ;) ) he is a great player and might even get a look from the NFL at the combine.

Speaking of which Michael Allen the TE from Whitworth has some pretty good catches in pre-season and he made the Cheifs practice squad, which is better than not making the team.  I was hoping he would have made the 53 man roster with his catching, but I think he needs work as a blocker.  Although they did give him number 81 so hopefully they are goiong to keep him around and develope him and he can mkae the 53 man roster next year.

Thanks for the message Sons of Thunder...um glad he is fine. :-\

No sure if you meant to send me just that message or if you meant to reply to the board. Either way.

I have seen Andy Studebaker double and triple teamed, and fight right through to make the tackle.  The man is extraordinary talented.  I would think somebody of Andy's size and strength makes life a little easier for the other D Linemen and LB's because they know there are 1-2 less guys that are going to be coming after them.

NCCALUM62-  you are right that the Bluejays' strength is on the defensive side of the ball.  While the D is strong, the Offense is getting there as Kudyba looks to be back to old form, and the receivers showed a lot of talent in game 1.  Granted it WAS IBC, but still they ran crisp routes and made their catches, which is all you ask for from the receiving corps.

Triple teaming one player...  I'll play 10 vs. 8 anyday.

Reading this board for 2 years + now and the AYK series is great! lol      Good entertainment -- until the teams get into their conference games and there are closer games/rivalries to read about!  Rarely get to see a game--but listen regularly, enjoy the comments, and follow the CCIW news too.
REALLY enjoy the behind the scenes info that is usually discussed!
D3 Rocks!

Gregory Sager

Thanks for the nice thoughts, guys, but send some love Mr. Ypsi's way as well. After all, Chuck was the first one to blow the whistle on AYK's shenanigans over on the IBC board.
