True enough.   :)

UW Stout, picked to finish last in the WIAC, was down 14-13 early in the 4th to Bethel, losing 35-20.
Last year, Millikan crushed Greenville to open the season.
How does each game impact the measurement of a conference's strength?
I'm asking an honest question here, not looking for angry responses, just thoughtful replies.
Modification- so this doesn't go down the wrong path:
A- I'm not raising a WIAC-CCIW debate- it's just big picture how do we measure conference performance.
B- I know the Millikan game was last year. If the same result happens this year- how do we view the UWS and Millikan results for conference strength?

IWU has a couple of transfers who could make an impact this season:

* Maurice Shoemaker-Gilmore (RB), 5-11/210 Jr.
  - Transferred from D1 Central Michigan

* Tyler Fahey (LB), 6-1/235 Jr.
  - Transferred from Indiana, where he did not play football.
  - At Maine South H.S., was the Central Suburban League Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior and 2-year all-state pick.

The Titans open today at Franklin (12:30pm CT).

I will be very interested to see IWU today vs Franklin. They are making some strong proclamations in Bloomington about what happened last year. I am not so sure it was all injury related. There is no question they have some top level CCIW talent coming back. I am sure they are a contender.

For the consensus top 3 here are a couple things I think are the strengths and questions for each. My questions are really about when these teams play each other because I expect their only losses will be to one of the other two:

Wheaton:
Strengths: Linebacker/DE, OLine, defensive speed, QB, size and depth at WR
Questions: Speed at WR, DB experience, Kicking game (although after watching the Wabash scrimmage I think they are ok here)

North Central:
Strengths: speed on offense (QB/RB), OL kicking game
questions: New head coach, defensive front vs run, LB

IWU:
Strengths: DB, DL, OL, RB/TE
Questions: running game, consistency at QB, chemistry, speed at WR

Clayton Thorsen, brother of Thunder WR Luke and son of Crusader legend LB Chad, just led Northwestern to an upset victory over #21 ranked Stanford. As a true freshman! Congrats Thorsens!

Concordia's choppy video feed sucks.

And super frustrating that it's on the same page as their live stats... I have to pause the video every time I want to check the score... so frustrating.
