No surprises there.

Millikin was competitive in the 3rd quarter, but couldn't hang around with IWU and lost their Homecoming game to the Titans, 49-27.

Carthage was right with Wheaton for a half, but Wheaton pulled away in the second half and won at McCully, 47-21.

Elmhurst @ Wash U was delayed by inclement weather.

The one close game was in Rock Island, where Augie came from behind to beat Carroll, 31-24.

Great work on the broadcast of the game!

Searching for a 5th team that can end the season over .500, IWU and Carthage seem to be only options and it's going to be tough for one of them to do it.

Carroll, NPU and Millikin are 2-4 and either have NCC or Wheaton left to play so they are not finishing over .500.

IWU is 3-3,remaining schedule NPU, @Augie, Carroll, @NCC (assume a loss).

Carthage is 2-4, remaining schedule Millikin, @NPU, Augie, Carroll.

BTW that WashU game is just in 2nd Q due to weather delays WashU 17-0.

WashU gamed I guess is called final after two quarters. WashU 17-0

Quote from: CarollFan on October 18, 2025, 05:04:08 PMYep Carroll/Augie was the usual back and forth between these two. With the game tied 24-24, Augie scored the winning TD with 59 seconds left.

Looking back at the Carroll/Augie game a big play that helped setup Augie for the winning TD came at around the 3 minute mark.

Augie at the 50 yd line, 3rd and 3, score 24-24.
QB Jimmy Makuh gets chased out of the pocket to his right towards the sideline and on the run hits WR Ethan Vrabec for 32 yd pass to Carroll 18 yd line. Announcer mentions pass looked like it might be overthrown but WR caught up to it.

From what I saw Augie has a couple more WR's than just Breyden Smith. I don't even think Smith played in this game.

Well, that's one way for Elmhurst to keep a game close.

(It wouldn't have been pretty if it went four quarters. EU gained only 41 total yards in that half to Wash U's 304, and the Bears were averaging 8.4 yards per play.)

When is Augie/Wesleyan game?

11/1 @ Augie.

If IWU pulls it off they both could end up 6-4. Should be good game.
They both have QB's that can sling the ball.
IWU QB statistically #1 in conference, Augie QB #2.

Wheaton big move from #41 to #30.
Adding another win and Augie and IWU winning helped since Wheaton has road wins against them.

I was looking at some of the conference stats and the DPOY might come from NCC but it might not be Sullivan. ;D

The coaches are blind if they don't make Sullivan the DPOY. He's the best defensive player in the conference, hands down.

True but if you have another DL on your team with more TFL's and more sacks, can you ignore that? Have they ever had CO-DPOY from the same team?

Yes, you can. Keep in mind that probably half of Medina's stats are because of JP Sullivan. Sullivan is the most dominant defensive player in the league and the most dominant I have seen in D3 since Dallas McRae was the D3DPOY. There isn't another candidate for DPOY in the CCCIW.
