sure thing Pat.  Like your #2 team in the country would ever get two losses

In the first two minutes of the podcast I point out that Wheaton is not my No. 2 team in the country.

Carroll-Wesleyan is an underrated game this week at the Carroll Fan has said.

I am not sure what the status for the IWU QB Smyth is.  Their running game was a lot better last week and they cut pass attempts in half compared to Wheaton game.

I know very little about Carroll but it looks like a good matchup on paper and we have a kid from our high school on the Carroll roster.

Since WashU is out of the CCIW there is more hope for a Isthmus bowl bid for teams like Wesleyan, Carroll, and Augustana.

Speaking of WashU, they're probably glad to be out of the CCW and no longer having to play Wheaton and NCC. They are currently tied for first in their new conference, the NCAC, at 4-0, and are the only team in the conference that is currently undefeated, including nonconference games.

They are not only undefeated they beat JCU and DePauw already. They control their destiny. Who knows? They may run into NCC or Wheaton in the playoffs. They had alot of starters coming back. JCU D had shutdown everyone until they ran into WashU.

The Bears had a great stretch in the CCIW and every player I ever talked to was thrilled to play North Central and Wheaton.

I am not the only fan who circled those games on the calendar, so to speak, even when I knew there was a good chance that the final score would be closer to 0-31 or 9-49.

It would be fun to watch the Bears play North Central or Wheaton in the playoffs.  The Bears would be the clear underdogs, but still, I like our chances.

I'm glad to see WashU have success. I had a kid attend WashU and have seen them play a lot the last 4 years.

They have a good style of play and I think it is giving their new opponents some problems. They still have some tough road games ahead.

And if you follow WashU you know they have had some slow starts on the road in the CCIW years.

Patrick Coleman

I chatted with Aaron Keen, the WashU head coach, after their win vs. John Carroll this past weekend, and one of the things we talked about was how people in the CCIW are viewing WashU's success.

NCC2010

Per the game notes, NCC will be unveiling their all black uniforms for the game Saturday. They haven't worn all black since 2022. At least the numbers on this year's version are solid red. The previous ones were impossible to tell what the numbers were from the stands/broadcast.

I see why Logan's model has NCC winning by double digits.

Behind the Streak: The Cardinals have won 53 straight conference games, the longest streak in league history. All 53 victories have come by double digits, including eight by 70 or more points. North Central has outscored its opponents 3,099-488 during the streak, an average margin of victory of 49.3 points.
