Agree completely and think we are essentially making the same point. I'm just not sure all those on this board and beyond truly understand the realities of D3 football as compared with other sports.
As you point out, just getting there and maybe winning a couple will be a home run for NESCAC programs. Believe this will be adopted eventually by all as the tacit goal and the best possible result for the NESCAC.

As you point out, just getting there and maybe winning a couple will be a home run for NESCAC programs. Believe this will be adopted eventually, by all, as the best possible result.

With the part of the country the NESCAC is in, the baseline should be getting to the round of 16, which will probably mean one win since the top* 24 teams get a first-round bye. (* geography plays a role but mostly seeding)

It seems as though Trinity has lost Sophomore Jordan Atkinson (I believe team sack leader) to the transfer portal. Tough blow to the Bangs who are already losing a lot of talent.

I see also that Bates' Matt Pierotti, who started at center as a FY, is in the transfer portal.  Losing him would be a blow for the Bobcats for sure. 

There really never has been an outflow of talent from NESCAC in a single off-season like this. 

Thomas Perry will very likely be in the NFL next year, and two other two-time all-league offensive lineman graduate.
Atkinson, Chase Wilson, and Ty Richardson (and maybe Pierotti?) all will likely be on D1 scholarships.
All three all-league QBs (one of whom was a three-time all-league player), the last two DPOTYs, three DBs and three WRs each of whom were at least two-time all-league players, and three all-American P/Ks all graduating.
Several players who were generational, four-year major impact players for their programs (Koy Price, Julian Young, Perry, Kennary, Berlutti) are gone, and every all-league DL is gone as well. 
Out of 32 first-team all-league players, at most six will return. 

And even the second team is fairly senior-heavy.

Bates transition period. The offensive Coordinator and person responsible for the offensive transformation at Bates is moving on to the Ivy League and this along with loosing there starting center who in this offense is key could mean a huge step back for the Bates program. Do not know if same offense will be run in 2025.

Bates I could be wrong has one the highest turnover of assistant Coaches I think in the league. I don't know of a stat tracker on this but seems like a high transition.

This move is somewhat perplexing. This player only has two years eligibility remaining and while a solid player going to struggle to break the lineup at a D! school unless he is going to red shirt.

This leaves with his departure and seniors graduating the only returning player who showed a great deal of promise last year and ready to step up given reps to potential all star would be Joe Toyias who can play all the positions but remains to be seen where Trinity will utilize him. I also am not positive is he a Senior or Junior I did not see in his Bio if he played freshman year or was hurt ?

Yes,  you could be wrong. Coach Coyne at Bates has lost 3 of the coaches he brought in a 3 year span. The Dartmouth opportunity for OC Thompson was a no brainer. He leaves on great terms. The Bates offense and overall scheme is firmly intact though we may see some different wrinkles this year.

When you talk of coaching moves in the NESCAC it's not unusual to see multiple moves among assistants. Bowdoin lost their OC a month ago and he was the third OC in 4 years. Colby loses another 2 assistants this year and their venerable Coach Dexter just announced his retirement. Movement in NESCAC coaching staffs is not unusual from year to year but you are incorrect in your assumption that there has been an inordinate amount of movement on Coynes staff. More coaching stability at Bates as compared with their Maine rivals and most of the NESCAC.

Pierotti will be a significant loss on Bates O line which was outstanding last year but they do have depth at that position.

Sorry if I am late, but it is GREAT to see the NESCAC join the D3 playoffs.

Would love to see the NESCAC champ face a UAA team, or MIT/JHU in the playoffs someday!

Thomas Perry invited to Ravens camp.  They have of course a good history with NESCAC o-linemen as Ethan Brooks started for them for several seasons.  Hopefully Perry at least can make the practice squad.

So does anyone have any updates on how NESCAC teams looked in the spring.

In terms of playoffs I know nothing happening this year. However will roster limits increase now because of the season extension has there been any talk about this ?

Not sure if this was reported yet but Logan Tomlinson has been invited to rookie mini camp for who else...? The Ravens!

Also, happy May 1st to all those waiting on the NESCAC recruiting class announcements. A lot have started rolling in via twitter. Should be interesting to follow the trends regarding the number or commits per school and where they're from.
