With 4 WIAC Games to play (for most teams:)

1. Whitewater 23-0
2. La Crosse 18-6
3. Eau Claire 12-11
4. River Falls 11-13
5. UWO 11-13
6. Platteville 9-15
7. Stevens Point 9-15
8. Stout 2-22

The work that Platteville did yesterday was practically negated as they lose a pair to Eau Claire today, including the series finale in 10 innings despite taking the lead on a Molitor HR in the top half of the 10th inning.

The same goes for Stevens Point as they are swept by La Crosse today.

Point and Platteville likely need to sweep the other in their head-to-head series next weekend AND get some help from Eau Claire, who faces River Falls, in order to earn a WIAC Tournament berth.

WARHAWKS clinch 3rd consecutive and 24th in school history conference championships by sweeping River Falls over the weekend. The wins extend the streak to 30 games shattering both school (24) and conference (25) win streak records.

Game One:
This was the most competitive game as the WARHAWKS Gradin Taschner and River Falls Shaun Gavin were locked in a pitcher's dual. Both went 8 innings and hits were scattered. The WARHAWKS got a pair of runs in the 3rd on Jackson Koenig's triple and Danny Hoppers sac fly and then added another run in the 4th on a Jackson Spring single. River Falls scored in the ninth but left the tying run on base.  The 3-1 was the final.

Pitching: Taschner (3-0): 8IP,3H,0R,1BB,9K; Franklin Kirchner (S,3): 1IP,3H,1R,1K
Hitting: Jackson Spring 2H; RBI: Spring, Koenig, Hopper

Game Two:
Koenig threw a complete game holding the Falcons to just 2 hits while walking 5 and striking out 9.  The WARHAWKS took the lead with 3 in the 3rd and then added 4 in the 5th to a take and hold a 7-0 to the end. Spring had a pair of hits and rbi. Hudson Turner had a pair of hits. Bowers crushed a pair of balls.  The first came within 5 feet of clearing the rightfield scoreboard for a double and the second completely cleared the scoreboard good for 2 runs. Aaron Holland homered and both Evan Olson and Landen Seymour had rbi.

Game Three:
Sam Steuber (7-0) went 6 innings allowing 7H,3R/2ER,3K and Ethan Wickman picked up his first save finishing the final 3 innings in shutout fashion while striking out 2. River Falls scored first with a run in the first for their only lead of the weekend.  But the WARHAWKS answered with a pair in the 4th and then scored 1-3 runs in each of the next four innings to build a 9-3 lead.

Hitting: Dominik McVay: 3H,2RBI; Thies: 2H,2RBI,HR; Hopper:2H,RBI; Holland, Olson, Seymour, Koenig: RBI.

Game Four (8 inn.):

The WARHAWKS scored 3 in the 3rd, 5 more in the 4th and single runs in the 5th and 8th to end the game by run rule 10-0.  Ben Lee (4-0) went 6IP allowing 3H,0R,1BB and 3K.  Benjy Tucker relieved him needing only 6 pitches to finish the 7th and Theo Zeidler finished the final inning with 1BB.

Hitting: Bowers 2H,3RBI,HR; Olson: 3H,2RBI; Thies: 2H; Holland, Seymour, Hopper: RBI.

Leading 2-0 when the postponed game was resumed the WARHAWKS extended the lead to 5-0 before Eau Claire put 3 runs across in the third. Adding an extra run in the fourth the WARHAWKS went up 6-3 and that score stood to the final out.  Gravin Taschner started surrendering 1 hit and struck out a pair in a single inning of work.  Franklin Kirchner (4-0) picked up the win allowing 6H, 3R/ER with 5K over 5 innings.  Benjy Tucker earned a 3 inning save finishing the game allowing just a 1H, 1BB and getting 2K.  Evon Olson and Jackson Spring each had a pair of hits and Spring had 2RBI.  Aaron Holland, Danny Hopper, Landen Seymour and Dominik McVay each had an RBI.
