The WARHAWKS get a pair of runs in the first and pile on a bunch over the final 3 innings easily beating Ripon 11-1 (8 inn.).  Ethan Wickman started surrendering1 1ER on a pair of hits and striking out 3 over 5IP for the win. Wickman threw 52 pitches.  Teo Zeidler relieved 3IP holding Ripon hitless with 1BB and 1K. Leyton Bowers had 4H and 3RBI. Aaron Holland had 3H with one a solo HR for 1RBI. Evon Olson had 3 hits and 2RBI. Jackson Spring (2) and Dominik McVay (1) added RBIs. Andy Thies finished with 2H and 1RBI.

WIAC Tournament kicks off this afternoon at Whitewater.  Would be surprised to see anything but a Whitewater vs La Crosse Championship on Saturday, but stranger things have happened.

La Crosse fighting to keep their at-large bid chances alive if they don't win the tournament, and I'd like to think a 2-2 record (W/L/W/L) with both losses coming to Whitewater would be enough to get the job done.  The Eagles are #38 in the NPI ranking entering today.

Looks like the Whitewater defense decided not to show up today as River Falls leads the host team 7-2 after five innings. Five out of the seven runs the Falcons have scored off of Lee and Tucker have been unearned thanks to three Warhawk errors.

EDIT-Make it 12-4 after 7 innings and it ends in a 13-4 final....

I am absolutely shocked to see Whitewater lose.

But, better to lose at home this week rather than next week.

Wow. As the fortuneteller said when she was indicted on fraud charges: I didn't see that one coming.

Starting your #4/#5 starter in the first game of a double elimination tournament is a bit of a head-scratcher of you ask me... Now you have to win four straight with Taschner, Koenig, and Stueber likely getting the nod moving forward.

La Crosse up one spot to #37 in the NPI Ranking after their win over Eau Claire yesterday.

Despite their loss, Whitewater holding strong at #4, which would put them in line to host Regionals and in turn Super Regionals should they advance.

Koenig cruises through the first two innings going 6 up, 6 down as Whitewater jumps out to a quick 4-0 lead. Eau Claire roughs up Koenig in the 3rd and 4th innings to take a 7-6 lead in the WIAC elimination game.

Whitewater scores with one out in the 9th to avoid elimination as they knock off Eau Claire 9-8.

Would La Crosse prefer River Falls or Whitewater win tonight's game?
