Quote from: raiderpa on February 19, 2026, 04:36:15 PMThe week off will give Hamilton time to heal. He is key, IMO, for a tourney run.  Allows for Casenheiser to roam and get shots.  Dunbar has proven to be a beast when he is in there and provides some "juice" as he calls it.  Fuline has definitely made himself a near legend in the basketball history of Mount, I only hope we can keep him for years to come.  Perhaps he should receive some NIL funds...hah

The current rotations they are running  are smooth. Both the first and second groups, variety, tempo, and juice are awesome to watch! A different guy steps up each game lately and you can't stop them all right now.

OAC tourney gets under way tonight.  Wilm (6) at ONU (3) and Berg (5) at Muskie (4).  Winners get Mount and Ott on Thursday in the semis.

Dr. Acula

Berg is up 15 with a minute to go.  This has to be a disappointing season for Muskie.  Started off red hot and finished not so much.

Dr. Acula

Berg is headed back to Alliance.  84-67.

Quakers just got called for a charge and tech down 13 so it's over in Ada.  P Bears heading to Westerville Thursday.  Absolute hat tip to Tropf.  He's done a great job this year because as someone who watches a lot of OAC hoops ONU isn't littered with supreme talent.

Dr. Acula

As a fan I appreciate the OAC staggering the tip times for the semis.  ONU @ Ott tips at 5:30 and Berg @ Mount at 7:00.

Also, if you're in the mood for some D3 hoops tomorrow the NCAC semis are at 5:00 and 7:30 at Denison.  JCU plays in the earlier game.

Why was there no technical foul on the Otterbein player rushing the floor after winning shot with 1.3 seconds left on the clock?

What are the rules?

We'll have to see if there's an explanation.  Obviously they looked at it and saw what happened.  The only thing I can think is that because the clock stops, it wasn't during play?  I don't know the rules well enough.  Hopefully Jim Haney, the national coordinator for officials can weigh in.  I mean, either they got it right or they got it wrong, but nothing is going to change.

It wouldn't be FloSports if the stream worked.  I've been getting an error the entire second half.  I cannot overstate how much I hate Flo.  The incompetency is elite.

Two entertaining, hard played semi-final games.  The foul near the end on a 33% FT shooter could've been a 'hack-a-shaq' move?  MU had several chances after that.  Raiders will still be in NCAA tourney.  Will be two OAC schools in with shot at three if Heidi pulls another upset.

Dr. Acula

Two FT with 3 seconds left down 2 with a good FT shooter at the line.  You had your chance.  Hopefully that pressure pays off in a future game.  Hat tip to Weekly who gave them a MASSIVE 8 points late.  Fuline always trusts his guys and that's a thing that pays dividends beyond the next few weeks.

Dr. Acula

Also ONU is undoubtedly kicking themselves.  That game was always gonna be a rock fight struggling to score and you jumped out 25-9.  The game ended in the low 50's.  You had every chance to win that game.   In a familiar refrain I was less than impressed with the officiating in Westerville.  I didn't care who won but when you see fouls not called on one end and called on the other literally on successive possessions it's hard not to scratch your head.  Contact on a drive under control no foul, contact on an out of control drive where the guy threw up the shot with his back completely to the hoop, foul.

All-OAC teams were announced.  Mount had two special award winners.  Farrington was voted POY and Vaden was voted DPOY.  Shaun Vaden then to Shaun Vaden DPOY now is incredible and well deserved.  Casenhiser (1st), Hamilton (HM) and Moore (HM) were also recognized.  Tropf and Winters were co-COY and this is one of the very few times that I like that decision.  Both of them are deserving.

How 'bout them apples?  Heidi 16-12 (7-9 in league) wins OAC.  They played relaxed and confident.  Surprised they could do it mainly playing six men all year, none listed over 6'4".  Did get a seventh player tonight in for over 10 minutes.

Congrats to the core four that stayed at Berg for final year (maybe one jr?) and nice recruiting older three guys that fit and were key players.

Should be three teams from OAC in tourney.  When was the last time that happened?

raiderpa

Otterbein kept throwing in 3's from everywhere, but the Princes held on for their biggest win in years. Congrats to them. I fear that the Berg win will cost Mount or Otterbein an invitation to the dance. It makes sense to cut Otterbein as Mount beats them twice and they lost the tourney. Would be nice for three in the NCAA, but I don't think the conference has the weight to carry this.  We will see.  The Mount loss was devastating as they lost a potential for three more home games, the final, and perhaps hosting the first round. Good luck to the Raiders, hopefully you get the tourney tap and it is close enough for us fans to attend.
