Husson is a tough draw for WPI.

Good luck Clark and WPI today!

Best of luck to the NEWMAC representatives, WPI and Clark.

Beating WPI with a guard-centric offense will be a tall order for Husson.  The guard trio of Newman, Margetson, and Callahan (even Reidy) are very good at keeping their guy in front and not easily coming off screens.  And Marelli and Molen should be able to do damage inside.

Clark is obviously up against it.  One guy to watch in this one and in years to come is FY Boluwasefe John.  He's still raw, but his meaningful minutes are increasing and he was a difference maker in the NEWMAC tourney, altering shots on the defensive end and a menace on the offensive boards.

Clark played well in the spurts I watched. Congrats WPI.

Kinda feels like tomorrow is the difference between a great season and a really special season.

Remember they were picked 3rd in the NEWMAC.

Good luck tomorrow boys!

Yep sweet 16 is a banner, round of 32 is not

Whoohoo. Kudos to Ithaca announcers. Lots of home ("away") cooking but they were passionate and did a great job.

Too bad the students were home in between Wpi's 4 quarter system!

Bartley has to be so proud of this group. Adams leaves, Sevilla leaves. Picked 3rd preseason NEWMAC.

Maybe his best season yet?

Well done Coach. Congrats boys.

Keep it rolling.

No shame for WPI to lose to the #1 team in the country.  The PBP guy was understandably talking a lot about the constant play stoppages, but unless I missed it never mentioned that Marelli came out after taking a 3-pt shot with about 17 minutes left and never returned.  Had to be an injury.  He had a quiet NEWMAC tournament, but you've got to let this guy play unless he was injured.  A senior playing his last game.  Then, they were already missing Margetson, so they had limited bench for guys who were part of the core group.  Marvillo before Pebley?  Another head-scratcher.  Was that to go small?  But Marvillo struggles from the outside.

But Wes was the better team.

WPI brings back a solid core for next season and should be at or very close to the top again, along with Clark and I think Emerson (particularly if McNamara returns to play and is on form).

Agree with all Babo. Great season boys. Wes too Athletic on this night.

I never make predictions on the board, but would not be surprised if they win 3 more games.

WPI89

WPI non-conference for 25-26:

Lasell
Worcester State
UMASS D
St Joes ME  (Keene St tourney)
Nichols/Keene St
Fitchburg
St Lawrence
Tufts
Middlebury

WPI pre-season 19.  No other NEWMAC even in others receiving votes............hmmmm

Will need to figure out how to replace Callahan's leadership and 16 points per.  I think everyone else back.  Very large incoming freshman class (including 4 guys 6'7" or bigger!  Will need 1 or 2 to step up and get some time, to mix with the vets coming back, in order to exceed that preseason rank.

Anybody else we should be voting for?  I think Babson will probably be pretty good, but a lot of questions around the league, for sure.  Teams will have to prove themselves with results.

Ryan. Certainly not a criticism of vote. The hmmm was me wondering if we are headed for a down NEWMAC year.

I am not nearly well enough versed to comment on other teams. We nee DC babbo here to comment on Babson off season.

I thought Clark looked good end of year and I think have most of team back.

We shall see. Getting close and exciting.

Genuine inquiry.  With almost 900 teams, between mbb and wbb, it's hard to be on top of everything.  This is especially true of All-American teams, too - really unfortunate to try and be discussing players who you haven't seen.  I'm always appreciative of tips!

It seems like NEWMAC, on paper, is headed for a bit of a down year after WPI.  Clark lost its three best players plus some role guys from a team that played a bit below expectations last year.  Babson also loses its top three scorers and really is well outside the realm of top 25 consideration accordingly.

I think GNAC is going to be the second-best conference in New England this year as it seems to have three potentially top-25 caliber teams any of whom could challenge for a tourney berth in St. Joseph's (ME), St. Joseph's (CT), and Albertus Magnus. LEC seems to lack a premier team this season and CCC looks very weak, although Endicott could be a dark horse in New England as Montagnino-Kinney-Hill should be one of the best scoring trios in the region.

WPI89

Should be a fun pre-thanksgiving tourney at Keene State.  WPI v St Joe's Maine and Keene v Nichols.
