It sure would be nice if the Office of Sports Info at RU would put up the 2006 roster.  I would imagine that everyone has their room deposits in by now.

Would be nice to know who's here and who isn't. :)

Just goes to show ya ..... ask and you shall receive!

The 2006 Prof roster is posted on their website.  Looks like lots of new players mixed in with some impressive old vets.

9 days from now and we strap on the helmets for real ;)

Go PROFS!

Besides all you Rowan posters + myself and a few hits in-between = a lop-sided board and very slow board. How about a little more participation. One more week and it's time to rock and roll !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody interested in the Pick-Em this year? Either post or e-mail me. If we have enough players, I'll voulenteer to run it this year. Straight-up and spread. If there is not enough response, it will be canned.

Good Luck to everyone in the NJAC and may everyone stay HEALTHY !!!
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Rams,

I'd be interested in doing the pick'em.  I have to agree that this board is rather slow.  That's probably because all of the players are too tired from camp to type.   ;D

This will probably be the final time that I agree with you all season, but I also wish everyone in the NJAC GOOD LUCK, and best wishes to a HEALTHY SEASON as well!!!

RU Fan,

Hopefully the Profs can gel a little more this week during the Brown & Gold scrimmage and get excited for Sept. 2nd.  I can't imagine that the Defense isn't ready to go... we have some nasty individuals on that squad that haven't hit anyone in nine months, unless they are like Brett Myers and beat their girlfriends in the off season.  Also, with Orihel and Encarnacion back and healthy from missing most of the season with injuries, I'm sure that they have something to prove as well.  I think with all of the preseason polls and AA polls behind us, it's time to prove who is a contender and who is the pretender.

Salem or bust!!!

4merprof,

We will probably agree a few more times, but rest assured it will stop the week before October 28th.  :)

ANY WORD ON WHAT TIME THE MONTCLAIR - LACKAWANA SCRIMAGE STARTS THIS SATURDAY ?????????

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PBR...

correction 4merprof....myers hits his gfriend during the season not off season.... ;)     unlike all the nba thugs who just beat their wives /gfriends year round while having numerous children with all different women... :

4merprof

Rams,

If we are in the mood to agree...  Do you agree that the new NJAC schedule sucks.  How many years have we finished up the regular season playing each other, and how many years has the NJAC title come down to that game???

Rowdy Rowdy Bomber

now that we're a week away from the season kicking off...  any predictions IC/ CORTLAND this year?

rams1102

4merprof,

I totall agee with your post. Every time I bring this up the answer I get is the new block schedule. Then I asked why do we have to play Willy P away again this year and the answer is the block schedule. You talk about sucking. Your last  games starting 10-21 (Kean, MSU, Cort, WP) and ours is (Cort, Rowan, WP, WC). To me it's crazy, but we have to play with the cards we are dealt. The last game should have been you guys and us, or you guys and Cortland. Well enough bitching, back to work.

You're correct!  The only poll that really matters is the one that comes out after the Stagg Bowl ... all of the others are just educated (and in some cases - "uneducated") guesses. ;)

Now its time to button the chin straps and get it on.  After being so close last year with an injury decimated team, I think the kids are all feeling pretty good about this season.

The enthusiasm is there as well as the talent and confidence. 8)  Now all that's left is playing the games!

The "BEAST" is Back!

Got to the Montclair - Lackawana scrimage in the 2nd quarter. I thought that I would be the only fan their and to my surprise there were quite a few fans in the stands. It was real nice to see. Got to talk to a bunch of people. I got to talk to the punter Mike Lajterman and I my teamate back at D&E is his Uncle Abe. I'm looking forward to maybe seeing Abe at one of the games.

The RED HAWKS looked pretty good. The D was pretty sharp and the hitting was at a very high level. A few of the Lackawana guys were trying to mix it up and then you heard from the bench "walk away" and we did. A few years ago there would have been all kinds of havoc. The O looked OK and they are still getting used to each other. Mike Jump is the real deal. They had hot dogs and burgers for the kids and their families after pratice. A nice event.

This is a different Montclair team then the past. The freshman class are a good bunch of young men and you can see that this is a team, not just a bunch of individuals. The attitude could not be any better. After 5 quarters the final was Montclait 10 - Lackawana 7. The score doesn't really mean much, but these kids are starting to come together.

I don't think Montclair will go undefeated and win the Stagg Bowl, but every team better be prepared to play us. There could be some surprises this year, but we have to take it one game at at time as a team and a family.

Next on the list : Iona   See ya there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rams:

Thanks for the report on the scrimmage.

Sounds like they did some things to make it a good time for the fans who came out.  That'll only help for the future.

Dave-

I like your attitude! I really believe that the kids at MSU are really starting to buy into a team concept. The captains and the olders guy do a really good job of stressing the word team, there is some serious talent in the group especially some of the younger players. The NJAC better watch out because if these boys start to gell early, all of the teams in the NJAC that are looking past us ( you know who yo are) are going to be in for a rude awakening!!!!!

4merprof

JT,

What's up with the Rowan pre-game preview on your website???  Opening game less than a week away.

Any word on the Brown & Gold scrimmage???  The honey-do list was too long for me to make the trip down this weekend.

GO PROFS!!!

RU Fan

4mer:

You've got to put that honey-do list away until late December .... either that or get a new Honey! ;D

The RU intra-squad scrimmage was just like any other intra-squad scrimmage.  Can't really tell much until next week.  Difficult for the fans to draw any conclusions because the kids wear their practice jerseys with numbers that don't match the roster.  Still, the kids looked fast and eager as hell.

The Christopher Newport game should be a good test for all of the new starters especially the receivers.  CNU has a pretty good squad this year and I'm sure they'll be ready since they're playing RU in the 'boro.

Its time for the new guys to step up and make names for themselves.  There's a lot of talent there and, at this point, all that's left is to "do it".  ;)
