The rule book does say to "determine a final score" and agree upon it -- and it is not any more specific than that. Unfortunately.

What happens if they can't agree on a final score?

Frank Rossi (In the d3 Huddle) had a really good analysis of the situation and rules.

I'm curious if schools have any flexibility with start times to try to avoid such situations.. for example, if the weather report clearly showed thunderstorms around game time, would it not be a good option to pull up the start time by 1 or 2 hours? I know it's easier said than done, but 1 or 2 hours could have saved this game

Teams absolutely do this, and in fact, the St. John Fisher/FDU-Florham game moved up and kicked off at 11 a.m. on Saturday this past week for this very reason.

One new CNU record set, another tied.

Gunner white scores 4 times and becomes leading scorer in CNU history with 39 career TDs. When he broke the record Dzierski brought the ball to the sidelines and was penalized for delay of game. These refs were such homies it was ridiculous. 14 penalties vs 6. The game got too chippy. Both teams were jawing too much and there were quite a few unsportsmanlike like conduct penalties.

Speaking of Dzierski, he returns as a WR and still managed to throw for a TD, tying the record for TD passes in a career.

So far so good. A bye week next week, then a home game vs #4 Susquehanna

MRMIKESMITH

Good win for the Seagulls this week. Finally got the run game to surpass the 300 yard mark, nearly hitting the 500 yard mark. Also, continued to be impressed with the OC and the pass calls and the receivers/rbs catching the ball out of the backfield. Both offense and defense responded very well this week converting and getting off the field on 3rd down. McDaniel only successful drive was the result of a big penalty and a good catch. Salisbury was able to build depth this weekend and I expect the same next weekend as well in the Nations Capitol. Team grew this week and albeit it was an overmatched McDaniel team, the players played well and Coach dialed up some good calls and adjustments.

MRMIKESMITH

I forgot that Salisbury had the easiest game of the year against "bye week", we won that game with flying colors. As such, I expect Salisbury to be full rested and much prepared for a game against Catholic. I expect Salisbury to eclipse the +350 mark this week and although Catholic only gave up 75 yards on the ground last week against F&M, F&M also scored 5 passing td 40+ yards each. I expect Salisbury will be able to run the ball, but also hit on multiple pass plays for touchdown. What I would like this week is for Salisbury to sure of big penalties (Pass interference and/or unsportsmanlike). Do not give Catholic any hope , the DBs need to become relentless in our soft coverage scheme and use this game as a confidence build as teams will look to exploit that as the season continues. Outside of Salisbury game, I'm looking forward to see how the rest of the NJAC fares in the NJAC/Landmark Challenge and will be keeping a "BIG" eye on the CNU v. Susquehanna game. I think this game will have tremendous implications on how Pool A/C and playoff bracketing will shape out.

CNU kickoff has been moved to Noon tomorrow. It's going to be a wet day on the grass. Thunderstorms expected as well. Hopefully, this game gets completed.

It's a shame the weather is impacting this game during Family Weekend. The seats are sold out with Standing Room Only tickets being the only tickets available for purchase. The seats will not be nearly as full as they would have been. Home field advantage is being somewhat neutralized by mother nature.

CNU85

Wow. What a game. CNU forces 5 turnovers. Wins against Susquehanna 41-27. Susquehanna returns opening kickoff for a TD. Then it was game on. CNU lost 2 running backs and top receiver to injuries. Still got it done against a very good team.
