Rain wasn't bad until 4th qt. I'm trying to figure out how to post pics on here to show a telling tale concerning the rain.

Wow. I listened to the game while driving on vacation- eventually will end up in Vermont for the game next week.

Can't wait to see stats and write ups. CNU could have cashed it in numerous times but they kept fighting.

This game final did not sit well with me, I watched from the stands. So many questionable calls by the refs marred the game. The dagger was the Questionable Pass Interference call on 4th down to give CNU the opportunity to tie the game. Rowan should have won this game IMO, and I'll die on that hill.
Also a bit disappointing to see how the CNU players were celebrating after the win, rather foolish and immature, didn't expect that from CNU
While on one hand, it was great to see Rowan go toe-to-toe with an ultra talented CNU program, Rowan's shot at the NJAC title is just about zilch now
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

Great game from the Seagulls against a good TCNJ team. I forgot that the new HC for TCNJ was a former W&L guy. I think that helped the Seagulls tremendously being able to see the same offense from earlier in the year. Defensively, the Seagulls played a solid game, there were some explosives that I'm sure upset the DC, but holding TCNJ who has been running rampant all season well below their season average was a huge confidence build. Looking ahead to Homecoming against Kean, I expect Kean to try to air it out similar to what it did last year with the RPO and passes to the flats and delayed crossers in the middle. This will be Salisbury first test against a team that will throw the ball more than 40 times. This is going to be a good test for the secondary who has at times allowed deep outs and passes to the flats which is more of a schematic issue rather than a skill issue. Offensively I expect Salisbury to continue to dominate in both the run game and pass game. Salisbury OC has been calling great plays over the last 2 to 3 years. I think the next step is for better execution on the short passes by the QB to the WRs and RBs. They will need to be able to execute those type of passes instead of the big play passing plays. If there was a serious concern, I'd have to say special teams, special teams, especially kicking/punting/snapping/holding has been putting forth a very lack luster performance this year. Hopefully those areas gets fixed before it comes back to hurt the team in close games. Having poor special teams play is not something that you typically see from Salisbury.

A good win by Salisbury this past week against Kean. It was just a good win, which explains how some analyst/reporters have taken a foot off the Salisbury train in national projections. Kean came out with everything, kudos to the HC, staff, and players. From a Salisbury perspective, Salisbury was very flat throughout the game. Don't get me wrong, the QB hit on a couple explosive runs that resulted in him getting player of the week in the NJAC. However, there were missed opportunities through the air (long and short) that I think he can be better and will need to better in the upcoming weeks. Defensively, Salisbury could not get off the field and that was the result of Kean appearing to milk the clock to ensure they had the right play based upon Salisbury defensive scheme. That formula for Kean worked as Salisbury Defense looked unprepared and uninterested until late in the game after they gave up a trip play, long pass before half, etc. Salisbury Defensive philosophy is to stop the run and keep everything in front, but that conservativeness has been a double edge sword against teams that are patient enough to take the short pass to the outside and QBs that can create time. I was very disappointed in the defense, the d-line did not stay in rush lanes on scrambles and on plenty of occasions, the lb/dl did not recognize the draw plays. The secondary still hasn't shown me that they can be elite in man to man coverage or one on one coverage. For Salisbury to take the next step, it is going to be on the DC to show something different throughout the game and the players will have to step up and execute at higher level than that of this past weekend. Offensively, we didn't see the "Spread" Option in effect due to Kean running a Cover 4/Man and keeping everything in front, but Salisbury was able to run for over 400 yards without even controlling the time of possession. As aforementioned, there were some missed opportunities by the offense via the pass that I expect to be fixed. Onto a good Montclair State team, who is always a tough out.

Rowan celebrating Homecoming looking dominant against Willie P at halftime right now, 21-3.

Have to agree. Son was texting from the stands while I was watching at home and just felt so annoyed by all of it. We had it in the bag.

And Rowan comes away with a 45-16 win, capping it off with a 94 yard run by Mordecai Ford with about 5 to go in the game. Great effort, QB by committee with Maiers going 8/14 157 yards 2 TD 1 INT, and Welsey spelling him for a bit for 150 yards going 7/9. Bukula really put on a show today with 113 yards and 1TD receiving, tacking on 43 on the ground and another TD.

On to Salisbury next weekend.

It's nice to see a resurgent Rowan program and three strong programs in the NJAC.  Barring a major upset, seems like CNU is a playoff lock; with a victory over Rowan, Salisbury is too, and probably still has good odds if it were to finish 8-2 with losses at Rowan and CNU.

Which makes me wonder - will the "tie" with Case Western ultimately be important to Pool C?  Let's say Rowan wins all it remaining games except the Salisbury game, and finishes 7-2-1. Is the difference between that and 8-2 enough to make the difference between a Pool C bid, or not? Keep in mind the NJAC had a great OOC showing, so I'm presuming Rowan's SOS should be decent-ish.  Would be pretty crazy if that invented "tie" with CWRU ends up the difference between a playoff bid or not.

This will help shed some light each week as we get closer to the end of the season. Interestingly, if the season ended today, TCNJ gets a Pool C bid.

Salisbury came out much more inspired this past weekend. Offense was hitting on all cylinders, finishing the game with 500+ yards of total offense. Salisbury was very successful on the ground and through the air with multiple explosives on the ground and air. I'll give the offensive grade an A. There were some short throws that I would love for them to capitalize and become more efficient/successful on. Those throws will prepare them for stiffer competition in this upcoming week and down the line. Special teams were really successful in changing field position, no complaints, which is always a good thing. Defensively, Salisbury was lights out the first three possessions and then everything pretty much fell apart as Montclair OC decided to let the QB have the game of his life, kudos to the young man and the WRs. I'm not sure what is going on with the pash rush and secondary. I want to blame scheme, but at some point players have to be at least near a WR and recognize route combinations, limit 1 on 1 explosives. Montclair really abandoned the run game and just aired it out for 3 quarters. I try to be as positive as I can, but although Salisbury offense was humming along with a late defensive touchdown, the defense didn't play really well at all, this will not cut it against Rowan, CNU and any Top 16 team with a decent defense and multi-dimensional offense or air raid offense. I'll remain positive and see if Salisbury defense can scheme it up, players execute better, because for the rest of the season, teams will test them and hopefully they are prepared, you can get away with it against teams that does not have a defense to slow down the spread option. Looking forward to playing a really good Rowan team that has everything to play for and will be ready (always are).

Salisbury up 21-14 on Rowan at the half. 2nd half starting now.

Go Profs!!

Heck of a game. Salisbury came away with a 31-28 victory in the Boro, but Rowan held them to 221 yards in the air and 164 on the ground. For a team that piled up 530 yards of offense against Montclair and 469 against TCNJ, Salisbury had their hands full with Rowan.

Shame on the muffed punt for the Profs.
