CNU wins 13-12. Two great defenses. Rowan's inability to convert more 3rd downs and going on 4th and 1 at their own 35, probably cost Profs the game. Great game... thought we were going into OT like last year.
Heart breaker

I watched the game, nothing like watching CNU and listening to the CNU Homer on the color commentary
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

CNU85

Great game. Rowan and CNU beat the mess out of each other. Slugging it out. CNU left 7 points on the field due to kicking. The profs also left 4...a missed FG and a blocked PAT. CNU had an easy pick 6.....I think the guy started celebrating while forgetting he had to catch the ball first. I have To sit down for a second. This old man's heart was stress tested today.

Hey man... how are you doing? We tailgated a long time ago at CNU. Since then I married the girlfriend, and have a soon to be 11 yr old son. He's a good athlete... glides when he runs... I run like I've been shot. He's more artistic and the wife said no football. He does BJJ, plays the drums, creates videos... he wants to try golf in the Spring... maybe track. I'm just along for the ride.

They are good broadcasters... and every hometown broadcaster is at least a little bit of homer. I grew up on Phil Rizzuto (HOF Yankee shortstop) announcer as a Yankee fan. Such a nice man... got his autograph on an 8x10. I thought they were complimentary to the profs and how good the team is.

Maybe it's my age, but they called a good game. Going on 4th and 1 on their own 35, pretty much sealed the deal.

I do remember that. I think you were wearing a plaid sports coat. Maybe not. It's been a long time. I've seen your posts and have been keeping up with your travels.  All is well here. Since we last tailgated...yikes......too much has happened. The most eventful is 3 grandkids. Now aged 5, 3 and 8 weeks.

Cheers mate!

Grandkids... congrats!... we tried for quite a while to have a kid. Once we gave up trying my wife got pregnant, she got pregnant 3 months later. So I became a Dad at 48. I hope can hang on for Grandkids. Women love him... we get stopped. The Asian/Gringo mix sometimes works out really well. So hopefully, it happens in his 20's.

I have heard way, way worse homers than CNU's color analyst, and the CNU play-by-play person is a pro's pro.

It would have made sense for rowan to go for 2 if they beat UMHB but because they did lose that game they risked missing out on the playoffs going 8-2 on the year and that's what happened

Kicking the extra point is also a risk, considering Rowan had already had an extra point blocked and had missed a field goal.

I don't know that it makes much sense to second-guess a coach's decision. We don't know his team better than he does.

He probably also didn't want OT on the road. And he's 56% on 4th down, you don't win big without taking shots. Good D3 kickers win games, and not every team has one. Nick Freid (sp) was a beast for Rowan in the late 90's, he was banging 45's... 50's. We don't win at Mount Union in 1999 without him. I don't remember if he got NFL looks, but for 4 years, he was very good. I think he punted too.

I don't remember him missing a pressure kick, and I went to every game back then, the dude was money.

I want Rowan to win... but I don't get as high or low as I used to. Rowan has to win out to have a shot at the playoffs.
