My 🟠⚫️ colored glasses kept me from being perfect.  The Webster/GU game was great.  Webster played really well.

GU1999

Battle of the Panthers tonight at HJ Long.

These two teams held home court last year. Prin has lost a good amount of their firepower from a season ago in Jaquan Adams (averaged 46/g against GU) and AJ Byrd (who averaged 16).  Bobby Alford is back and he averaged 30+ last season in the two meetings.

GUs at home.  Prin got waxed by Grinnell.  Give me the Good Panthers by 16.

GU1999

GU wins going away.  150-117.
- 9 GU players with 10+
- Led by Isiah Griffin's 27
- Eaton from Prin ties two NCAA d3 records:
-100% from the field minimum 18 takes
    - And 18 consecutive makes in a game.      I'm not sure why those are listed separately.

I'm guessing it's because it's possible to have 18 or more consecutive makes in a game without shooting 100% -- e.g you could take 20 shots, miss the first and last and make the other 18.

One game tonight:

Fontbonne hosts Westminster - Give me Fontbonne by 8.

Make that 27.  Fontbonne comes up big.

GU1999

Three games on the slate for tonight:

Blackburn at MUW:

MUW will be my slight favorite in what should be a very tight game.  Give me MUW by 3.

Eureka at Lyon:

Eureka makes the long trip and gets thumped.  Lyon by 18.

Spalding at Webster:

Spalding will grind it out at Webster tonight.  Give me Spalding by 6.

I happened to catch and clip the last second foul that helped MUW win tonight - it's on my twitter feed.  It's not, not a foul, but it's a tough one for the defender, for sure.

Am having a hard time with it too. Honestly it boils down to being a 50/50 call and regardless of what call it is, there is more than enough there to say it should've been called the other way. My take it should've been a non-call because how the defender sold it but the defender didn't establish himself enough to avoid contact that may have warranted a foul.

50/50 goes to the home team.  :)

As for my Webster Prediction... ummmm that was much more lopsided than I predicted.  Webster goes 0 - 16 from 3 in the second half and only went to the FT line 6 times in the game.  Spaldings half court defence has always been their bread and butter, but it looks like this version will win a lot of rock-fights.

Eureka does better than I thought they would at Lyon.  Eureka and MUW may be the middle tier of this league.

Top Tier remains:
Lyon
Spalding
Webster
Greenville

Middle Tier:
Fontbonne
Eureka
MUW

Bottom Tier:
Prin
Blackburn

Westminster

GU1999

Some serious brickfests yesterday.

From 3:
Prin 1-12
Spalding 2-19
Westminster 3-18
Greenville 5-37

And two of these teams won. 😳

After Saturday results the three tiers hold.

Congrats to Westminster on the win at Principia last night.

If GU1999's tiers hold:

1) Webster should get a road win in the Beaverdome tonight. But that is a notoriously and historically tough place for the Gorloks to play, so anything can happen.

2) Fontbonne at Eureka should be a good game, but I'd expect Eureka to successfully defend home court.
