Besides the earlier post by Hopefan, the SLIAC website schedule has Robert Morris - Springfield for every game on the board. For SLIAC posters and viewers I don't think anyone on here confused the two.

Wish I could find a boxscore from either of RMC-S's last two games. RMC-S's main threat, Corley Lee, crashed into the bleachers after a loose ball four minutes into the game against UMSL. He never returned. Right Guard any help on this subject.

fcnews

After further research it appears 6'6 Corley Lee did not suit up for either the Mac or Blackburn games.

Regarding Lee, he hasn't played at all either game, they also had another guy on the bench in sweats who is taller but thats all i know about him, but not sure how long he will be out.  With him out, RMC-S played 7 players, with all but one starter, #41, played over 30 min.  2 of the starters played all 40 I think it was #20, who had 29 pts, and #10 i think, #12 played 39 because he injured his ankle and went out for a possesion.  #41 got into foul trouble early which forced the Eagles to go to the bench more then I think they wanted to.
RMC-S vs.  Fontbonne will be a very exciting game since both teams really want to push the tempo.  The question will be if RMC will have the legs left to play such an uptempo game with such a short bench, especially coming after the competitive game at BC.

hopefan

Something makes me think the Fontbonne bench may be a little shorter for the game with RMS also ::)

Don't worry about FU's bench it will be the same as usual >:(

hopefan

I'm very worried about Fontbonne's bench :-\  You're not, FC?   I still haven't seen much contribution yet from the bench, and if one of the starters were to go down, I'm not sure what would happen....

Anyway see you tomorrow  -  bring the Pizza!!!!!!

If FC loses a player to injury someone else will step up. That's just basketball.

We don't know that, FCnews. We don't know the identity of every lurker in this room. And we can't assume that everyone who reads this room is familiar with each of the various SLIAC teams' schedules, or that they scrolled back and saw Hopefan's earlier post.

My point is simply that people should distinguish between RMC-Springfield and RMC-Chicago for the sake of accuracy, particularly because RMC-Chicago is much more well-known in small-college circles. That's not asking too much.

BTW, if Corley Lee isn't playing for RMCS, then that's a very different team than the one I saw last season. He was easily their best player in 2006-07.

Greenville beats Logan Chiropratic 80-75

It might also be mentioned about RMC-S that they went to the Final Four of the USCAA DI in 2002, 03, 04, 05 and 06.

Mr. Ypsi

However, it might also bear mentioning that d3 is 19-7 vs. USCAA this year (and I believe that is a lower d3 record than usual.  While it could be argued that 'final 4 is final 4', it cold also be analogized to 'world's tallest midget'.

That's true, but if RMC-Springfield was a D3 program rather than a USCAA program it'd still be decent. Not a powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination, of course, but probably around .500 in a typical season, if the Eagles were a D3 indie playing a schedule made up mostly of CCIW, SLIAC, MWC, NAthCon, and HCAC teams.

.500---Are you sure?
NCC played them twice in 05-05 and won by something like 16 & 18 points, and I think it would have been worse if NC hadn't cleared its bench.

Would no doubt be an epic battle.   ::)    :D

Actually, NCC beat RMCS by 16 (88-72) on opening night in the airplane hangar in Naperville, and by 14 (85-71) in Springfield in mid-December. That's comparable to what the Cardinals did against other average-to-good teams from outside the league in the 2005-06 campaign:

* North Central beat Franklin by 12 @ Franklin, and the Grizzlies went on to a 20-8 campaign that featured an NCAA tourney appearance.

* North Central beat Mount Marty by 12 at a neutral site, and the Lancers finished 16-14 in a very tough NAIA-2 league with which you're quite familiar ;), the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

* North Central beat Loras by 13 at a neutral site; the Duhawks went 17-9 that season.

NCC was just a very, very good team that year. There were a bunch of decent squads besides RMC-Springfield that fared poorly against the Cardinals.

As I said, I think that RMCS would average out to about .500 every year playing a schedule exclusively made up of D3 Midwest Region teams. Some years the Eagles would be over the mark, some years under. I really have no idea yet how good this season's edition of the Eagles happens to be. As I said, their best player from last season has apparently missed the two contests against MacMurray and Blackburn this past week.

Just to enlighten  on  FCNews comment that RMS is a USCAA D1 Final 4 team for several years   -  There is no USCAA D2 :o ::)  The organization just lists all schools as one group on its site.
