Congrats to the Webster Gorloks and Coach Bunch on setting a new record for most wins in a season by notching win #21 today vs Greenville. Webster had won 20 games in a season four times previously, all under Coach Bunch.

Today's win was also #15 in a row, which could also be a new Webster record.

Greek Tragedy

Easy semi-final wins for MUW and Webster.

I'm thinking that loss last Saturday to MUW was good for Webster. Creates an even greater sense of urgency about the championship game than if they'd won.

Hint to basketball players at all levels... if a ball is going out of bounds, and you are going to attempt to save it...DON'T FLING IT BACK TOWARDS YOUR OPPONENT'S OFFENSIVE BASKET!!!

MUW win, Webster loss

The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Obi Ogomo (GU '11 and '18) has been named head coach of Westminster.  Obi is loved in Greenville.  He most recently has been at Depauw and while there was the lead recruiter of a close family friends son.  They indicated he was GREAT in the recruiting processs.  The Barber coaching tree looking nice these days.  Good luck to Obi and Westmin.

Central Illinois is where he is from and where he spent most of his career before Westminster. I lived eight years in Springfield, where LLCC is located. It's a great community. He should be happy there.

I didn't know that Lyon's HC had taken HC job at D2 Albany State. Here's the announcement about his replacement.

^^^If you divide those wins by the number of seasons coached, it looks like Bunch would have the most wins per season. I didn't make the actual calculations, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, is there something going on at Lyon? Not only did their men's hoops coach leave, I saw on Twitter/X that their women's coach has just left after one season.

GU1999

I think you are correct on Bunch.

As per Lyon:

Men's Basketball Head Coach Departure

Former men's head basketball coach Rodney Mayes left the program because he accepted a new coaching opportunity at another university and become the new head men's basketball coach for the Albany State University Golden Rams.

Women's Basketball Head Coach Departure(s)

In May 2025, Former women's head basketball coach Casey Fowler left Lyon to accept the head women's basketball coaching position at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a NCAA Division II program.

His long time assistnat Michael Peckham took is role as HC at Lyon.

As of May 15, 2026 Peckham has taken his old role as assistant under Fowler at TAMIU.

The Head job is currently being advertised...

Back to Back to Back SLIAC All-Sports trophies for Greenville.  Champions in 10 of 14 sports.  Really sucked at newly restarted men's golf to keep it somewhat close.

Hats off to All the coaches and players at GU.

Obviously does not include their top-10 in the NCAA (all levels) men's gymnastic program.
