Well, they are all still on the roster. Ruder played "extended minutes" Wednesday against River Falls. Peterson played 10 minutes last weekend at La Crosse and played 17 minutes the previous game vs Whitewater. Vander Velden last played against Whitewater.

Leaving the program with 2 games to go?

Ruder has taken mention of UWSP hoops of his social media after having it all season.  It seems he's left the team.  Vander Velden and Peterson still have mention of it, so who knows there.

For Oshkosh, the big one for the conference and probably the country, Levi Borchert will not be using a fifth year and will graduate in May.

So, Quinn Steckbauer and Will Mahoney, who have both shown to be capable scores in the league, will return for one final season in 23-24. Nick Otto, who a few minutes earlier in the year, will also take a fifth year.

Titans should have three starting spots set, Mahoney, Steckbauer, and Rindfleisch. Two spots TBD.

FYI to UWL and D3H, no jump ball was ever called at 6 or 3 seconds left in Kolf. Oshkosh called timeouts.

Conference Tournament field is set.

1. Oshkosh 12-1 at Stevens Point
2. La Crosse 9-4 vs River Falls
3. Whitewater 8-5 vs Platteville
4. Eau Claire 7-6 at Stout
5. Platteville 7-6 at Whitewater
6. River Falls 5-8 at La Crosse

7. Stevens Point vs Oshkosh
8. Stout vs Eau Claire

Not sure how to figure all this out. If La Crosse and Whitewater tie, they split and both got swept by Oshkosh. La Crosse did sweep Eau Claire, while Whitewater split, so I'm guessing that's a tie-breaker. La Crosse also split with Platteville and Whitewater has a chance to sweep Platteville Wednesday.

If Platteville beats Whitewater and Eau Claire beats Stout, there will be a 3-way tie at 8-6 of Whitewater, Platteville and Eau Claire. Not only would they all be 2-2 vs the other two teams, they all split with each other.

If the tie-breaker goes to record vs #1, #2, #3 etc, Eau Claire was the only team to beat Oshkosh.

If a tie-breaker is needed between Platteville and Whitewater, both split with each other, swept by Oshkosh, split with La Crosse and split with Eau Claire. If it goes down to River Falls, Whitewater split and Platteville swept the Falcons.

Does that make any sense? LOL

WARHAWKS: 94  OT
Stout: 88

WARHAWKS struggled initially and with the exception of a 2-2 tie played from behind the entire first half and trailed by twelve, 42-30, when it ended.  Stout maintained their lead for about the first six and half minutes of the second half before the WARHAWKS took their first lead of the game , 51-50,  after a 12-0 run.   After that the game played close with neither team able to gain more than a one possession lead.  A pair of free throws from Trevon Chislom gave the WARHAWKS a 79-76 lead with :13 remaining but Stout's Jackson Noll hit a three pointer with :06 to tie and when Miles Barnstable's three point attempt at the buzzer missed the game went into overtime.  After Stout got the first OT score the WARHAWKS scored and led for the remainder of the game.  Barnstable led all scorers with 26 points.  Jameer Barker added 20.  Delvin Barnstable had a double-double 18-13 and Chislom knocked down 13.

I wasn't able to watch the game so I can't explain why but the WARHAWKS went 23-26 from the free throw line on 23 Blue Devil fouls while the Blue Devils shot just 6 free throws (6-6) including just 1 in the second half and 2 in the OT.  The WARHAWKS were whistled for 10 fouls.  I've seen FT discrepancies before but generally not quite this significant.  I'm not complaining though.  :)

Next: Hosting Platteville Wednesday for senior night.

I was listening to radio guys replay and they said Ruder and Peterson were not there because they were home sick with the flu/cold.

That's seems very reasonable for Peterson. But I do think Ruder case is different and that might not be totally true because as you said all Point stuff removed from socials.

Still trying to gather information from Eau Claire and River Falls from Saturday.

I believe UW-River Falls didn't have a senior night. Reeck and Holland repeating junior class status in 22-23, so I think they would be back in 23-24. Reeck hasn't played And Hanson coming back from injury for a sixth year too.

I don't have any information from Eau Claire. Nate Hau, Alex Voigt, Carter Hanke, and a big one Brock Voigt would all have the chance to return if they want.

About the only worthwhile information from last nights Pointer Hoops Radio Show....

UWSP still led the league in attendance this past season.  It's surprising to me considering watching the feed this year, it never looks like many ppl are there watching the games.  Also, the product hasn't been what most UWSP fans are accustomed too.  Good to know they still have the best attendance to use on the recruiting trail.

Scott and Bob griped about there only being six teams in the conference tournament. Kinda pathetic if you ask me. It's been that way since 2008, seems like it's not going to change. Bob said he and UWSP always votes for eight team tournaments.

Griping?  I certainly wouldn't call it griping.  Did they discuss it last night, certainly.  Semling flat out said that they knew the setup going into the season and knew what needed to be done ahead of time.  He also made a point multiple times that they just needed to beat River Falls to get in.  UWSP was the last seed last year when every team made the conference tourney, and beat Stout on their home floor.  An example for a bottom seed winning a game doesn't go back very far.

Do I actually think every team should make it in the tourney?  No I don't.  I think 6 teams is a good setup.

Looks like La Crosse will just honor second year seniors tomorrow.

I'd say at this point then Deang, Platz, and a big one in Austin Westra plan to return in 23-24.

Greek Tragedy

I actually enjoy the step-ladder format. I'm not a fan of everyone making the tournament in the 1v8, 2v7 format. There is no advantage of finishing higher...basically a clean slate, aside from home court advantage. Having 5v8 and 6v7 gives 1 and 2 double byes and 3 and 4 single byes. It's an extra day of games, traveling, missed classes, but maybe have the 1st round on Saturday (or Friday last year).

Carleton above La Crosse. Oshkosh is 1st.

Oshkosh, La Crosse, Eau Claire and Whitewater all ranked and none play each other Wednesday. That's huge because all are favorites to win on Wednesday too. No one should be taken out if they all win and all the wins against each other will count as RRO on selection Monday.

Hanson not back for sure for U WRF. Told me earlier this season he had not made up his mind.
