WIAC all conference selections are out and also all time WIAC team was announced on WI High School Sports Network thingy.  Congrats to UWW for player and coach of the year.  Also congrats to Rich Melzer for making the all time team and also my era ALB for UWW.  For all the greats that have been here and there and in cheeseland, it was a good era to be around WW in 1998 to 2003 to watch ALB and also get to play some pick up games with the team and others in the good old DLK gym.

GO HAWKS!

Drake--I would bet you could get tickets by walking up Friday. We do not have a history of drawing well. I've not seen the gym full this season, including for WW and Point recently. I walked up last year on Friday at UST and got in at around 6:00 p.m. How many tix do you need? I could buy some for you and meet you in the lobby.

Fred - Thanks for the offer. I'm not sure how many tickets l would need, so I'll see how the day goes on Friday and will probably just make the drive over to check out the game/s.

Does that kid with the cowboy hat still go two stepping down the sideline trying to stir up the students, or did he graduate? The first time I saw that I thought what in the world?  Good stuff. ;D

Just tried to get tickets for the Pointer game at Hope. They weren't in yet but she said we were getting our full allotment of 200 for the game. She believed the Hope gym was small. I thought tickets were allotted per the NCAA handbook at 1/2 to the home team and the remaining half split evenly among the other three teams. Left over tickets are then returned to the home team. DeVos Fieldhouse only seats 1200 ?? (I know it seats 3400 or so, just being facetious :P)

How's the ticket sales?  Does Point really only get 200 tix?  I assume they sold out.

Drake--the kid who did the dance has not appeared this year, unfortunately. He was great.

If we only got 200 tickets, I'd guess we sold out. When I picked up mine yesterday morning, they had about 35-40 envelopes stacked up from phone purchases. I can't dispute what the ticket manager said about our ticket allotment being only 200, but that still seems small compared to what the NCAA rules stipulate:
Four-team Sites: Day One–Two games
1. Home team will receive one-half of available seating. The remaining half of available
seating will be equally distributed in terms of number and location among the three
visiting teams.

Maybe they change the rules in certain circumstances?

I want to clear up the post about UWSP tickets. Stevens Point REQUESTED 200 tickets to start for their fans. They were offered their full allotment of 500 (1/3 of half). When they reported in at noon (EST) today, which is when the deadline was to stop selling tickets, they returned 100 of those 200 tickets as they had only sold approximately 50. They are keeping an additional 50 in case their fans were unable to come before noon, to sell until 4:30 PM (CT) today, at which time they will return the remaining tickets to Hope to sell. Now that the schools have released their tickets they are on sale through the Hope ticket office until game time on Friday or until it is sold out. Please feel free to contact the Hope ticket office if you have questions.

When in Holland be sure to check out the heated sidewalks.  The year I went for the women's final four it snowed a foot or so and they were completely bare.

Out of curiosity, how many tickets have Westminster and IWU sold?

Thanks for clearing that up. Must be just us die hard (retired) fans showing up this year. Maybe the distance scared off some (I think we were about 125-150 strong at Augie last year), or (heaven forbid) some don't think we will be playing after Friday. I was disappointed with our attendance vs Superior in the WIAC tourney this year, with only 900 compared to 1442 in last year's tourney game against them.

Unfortunately it will probably only rain.  Heated sidewalks are one of the greatest achievements of mankind by any measure. :)

I was actually a student when they installed all of that stuff, it was pretty cool to see how it was done.

If you check out the link to Falcon b.b. as shown by Falcons04, click on the Falcon team page, then on your right on  River Falls Channel 16 Basketball Show. It will remind you a lot of Bob Costas interviewing Mike Kzyzewski, but it's really only me interviewing Jeff Berkhof, just in case you can't tell the difference. (:

I dunno if it's gamesmanship or truth...

But Ty Tillema tweeted there's a possibility he might be playing tonight.

Perhaps that's not news... but it's possibly more than we've heard on the subject?
