Because of the bird flu risk we are dividing our chickens from the barn into 12 separate coops, these are what they look like. A lot more work but likely the birds survive.

It's good that they are doing it this way because they'll quickly realize no one will want to pay to watch the postseason. Appreciate the free regular season now before they decide to change it.

It's on a "trial" basis. If nobody watches?

Dad sat me down last night and gave me some news.  He's decided I am not financially capable of taking over the chicken operations and so he has a letter of intent signed to sell it.  I will get about 25% of the net proceeds, but I am now out of work shortly.  :o

Good things....I have more time to be a hoops fan and won't bear the risk of chronic maladies like the bird flu.

Bad things....I can't tell girls in the Point area bars I own the ranch anymore.  Seems they all like the idea of a guy with assets. Might need to get some game.

Anyway, this gives me more time to watch the WIAC and all the talent that Point Coach Dernbach has assembled.  I can travel to away sites as well.

Dad said he was going to take me to another chicken ranch to celebrate, I am not so sure I need that. We know how to raise them and our egg production was 93th percentile.  What more do I need to learn?

Excited for the ball to bounce.

UW-La Crosse comes into the season 7th with 397 points. UW-Platteville comes in 18th with 213 points.

I'd rather see Eau Claire or Stevens Point get those 11 points than Oshkosh as I feel Blugolds or Pointers have a higher potential to be a top 37 team.

We are still about a week away from the preseason poll. My prediction is La Crosse, Platteville, Eau Claire, Stevens Point, Oshkosh, Whitewater, River Falls, Stout.

Whitewater gets 2 votes after an 11-15 season?  Questionable at best.

Platteville loses a ton, a generational player included. I don't have them in the top 25, I don't think they finish in the top 3 of the conference.

Lots of teams lose a lot of production this year -- it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Please explain....after all Oshkosh gets Metcalf-Grassman back and he looked like an All American until the injury.
Not sure I see a bigger delta than that.

When is the big question. And Eau Claire and Stevens Point have a lot of pieces coming back and have added a lot.

I don't know when MMG returns, do you have any insights?  Do you agree that he may be an All American level player if 100% or close?

I don't know when he's coming back. I feel like he's not going be 100% when he comes back and his minutes are going to be pretty limited. 2026-2027 All American caliber seems more likely.
