Greek Tragedy

I noticed Point recruit from Downer's Grove North, Bobby Grganto, not on the roster anymore. He was pictured on crutches prior to the start of the season.

Any idea, Tomt4525, PauldingLightUp?

He's still on the team, but he's injured for the year.  He had knee surgery for an injury that happened in high school, he's basically redshirting this year.

It's too bad we don't have any La Crosse posters here to tell us how awesome they look. They seem like legit Final Four contenders so far. Grieger also a possible POTY candidate too.

I'm not a Lax fan but have reason to folow them. Jacob Butler transferred there from RF and a friend has a freshman son, Carter Wollan, who's played a little in two games. I'll substitute until somebody more qualified takes over.

Just a massive win for Stout at Illinois Wesleyan. Creger 21 and Shore 16 points for the Blue Devils. Stout right back in the mix after I wrote them off.

An absolute shocker in IWU. Stout's previous wins were against Oak Hills Christian College and Maranatha Baptist. IWU is supposed to be a Final Four caliber team. What a great win for the WIAC.

Who says IWU is a Final Four team?  Oshkosh almost ran with them without their best player.

UWSP loses to North Park 115-114 in 3 OTs from a North Park 3 at the buzzer. SP had several chances to ice it, in regulation, and in the second AND third OT, but miss FTs.

I don't think the clock started right away on the last play, but not enough to make a difference on the shot, probably.

Oh. And SP led by 17 at halftime.

Absolute choke job by Stevens Point. That is a brutal loss.

tomt4525

This Point team has mostly been solid on the offensive end but can't guard anybody to save their lives.  North Park was able to get to the rim whenever they wanted to.  The first half lead vanished because Point struggled to break the press for about an 8 minute stretch.

They will have to outscore teams this year if the first few games are indicative of this team moving forward.  Which is pretty sad knowing where Point's tradition came from on the defensive end.

I'm at a loss for words. Point put on a master clinic on how not to close out a game. Absolute shame to waste a 17-pount HT lead and have the lead at the end of regulation, and the end of every OT.

The defense is non-existent at times and Point has their patented cold spells every game. Really a shocking loss.

Probably not as bad as ranked IWU losing at home to Stout, but close.
