Didn't watch, but Dernbach must have done a master class of getting his team ready to go in a big game on their home floor once again.

Greek Tragedy

Catholic lost tonight. They get thrown into the At-large pool in a 1-bid league, which is now two. That doesn't help Oshkosh.

Mount Union also lost, so if Otterbein doesn't win the AQ, that's another bubble burster.

Already one bid thief. Oshkosh not off to a good start trying to scoreboard watch their way in.

palum

Platteville was up by 11 with about 12 minutes left. Then WW went on a 3pt shooting clinic. MeEwen made 3 3pointers in about 2 minutes. Platteville looked worn-out towards the end and started turning the ball over then they had to foul. In the end it was WW with a 66-56 win

Greek Tragedy

Not the start Point wanted...or the outcome. Can't say too much about the game. La Crosse was up 12-0 before Point even scored 5 minutes into the game. They did cut it to 6 with 4 minutes in the half to go, but La Crosse went into the break up 12. Point never threatened, getting it down to 7, but La Crosse lead by double-digits for most of the 2nd half. All I can say is that we regroup and get ready for the our 1st NCAA tournament appearance since 2017-2018. Wow, that's a long time.

Greek Tragedy

Stevens Point and La Crosse essentially swapped places. Point fell from #16/C5 to #20/C8, while La Crosse jumped from #19/C7 to #14/C5.

Whitewater rose from #21/AQ to #15/AQ.

Platteville had a big drop going from #27/C11 to #30/C15. They could start sweating a little. 6 or 7 bid thieves are possible.

Oshkosh is going the wrong way, dropping a spot from #38/C22 to #38/C23.

ChickenHoops

Heather has sorta checked out on the Pointers. Last gasp on that one last night was "Uttech would have helped them" before she focused on more pressing matters, which I appreciate. Now we don't have to watch hoops this weekend.

Anyone know if this pay per view deal the WIAC did was worth the trouble?  I think its marketing a future sales package but I may be wrong. Got my money.

Greek Tragedy

I imagine Point would still be undefeated had they given Uttech more NIL money and kept him.

Quote from: Greek Tragedy on Yesterday at 08:14:51 PMIt would be interesting if I could obtain viewership numbers from the regular season (average) and Tuesday's 1st round games. I would love to know how many people paid...even tonight's numbers as well.

I ended up purchasing the men's tourney package.  $25 for me is no big deal if I really want to watch it. Of course I was at the WW game and I watched the Stout game the next morning.  I'm going to watch the Point game when I finish this.  One thing that I liked and influenced my decision was that you can have access to the videos until August.  At some point I'll watch the WW games.

Aside from having to pay I'm not sure what you mean by "trouble." It was easy to obtain and access. The Stout video tended to buffer for a second or two fairly regularly for me. Otherwise the video quality was good.  The audio is whatever the host school has.

I think "trouble" in this instance refers to the ill-will generated by people upset about having to pay.

Ironically, I think the WIAC is the one D3 conference that stands to make a lot of money from fully monetizing broadcasts.  It's the only one, in my opinion, where it might be worth the PR hassle.

Greek Tragedy

Point's last six games have alternated wins and losses, starting with the road win at Eau Claire. So obviously, we'll win our 1st round tournament game.
