What does this mean, really?  Heather asked.

Main thing now is bracketing teams, then also administrative stuff to get ready for the championship weekend in Pittsburgh and he would be first in line if there's a relatively close school hosting and UWSP misses the tournament to be the NCAA site rep.

You're one of ten people who oversee the whole process of organizing and running the tournament.  There's a lot of staff help from the NCAA and local organizers, obviously, but there are decisions to be made.  They'll be the group evaluating and proposing NPI changes, selecting future host sites, etc.  It's kind of equivalent to the board of directors for a non-profit.

Very good and informative interview with Tom Webb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QyNSGDYnu4

Now from that, I'm way to excited for the season to start even though it's still six weeks away for fans.

Did Eddie Andrist leave anything valuable in the MBB office?  Maybe an egg salad sandwich?  My girlfriend loves the leading scorer for Stout, AJ Uttech. Makes me a little jealous.

Greek Tragedy

Any update on Cal Krohn? His injury happened in January,  if Im correct, so not sure if he'll be ready at the start of the season. Maybe 2nd semester?

The full Pointer schedule is out.

The highlight is Point heading to Florida for the Orlando Classic vs Wooster and Coe December 19 and 20.

4 consecutive away conference games followed by 4 consecutive home conference games. Interesting.

Thinking more, I do think the original schedule was probably made with UW-Stevens Point and UW-La Crosse swapping home dates. But, someone forgot about the wrestling championships in La Crosse February 13th, and rather than remaking the whole schedule UW-Stevens Point and UW-La Crosse men agreed to have four game homestands and road trips. This has happened in recent years with wrestling, but someone forgot when making this years schedule.

In 2026 wrestling championships were at McPhee, not Sonnentag, so easy to forget for 2027. In 2025 UW-River Falls and UW-Whitewater did the double doubleheader and in 2024 it was UW-Stout and UW-Platteville.

Also, UW-Stevens Point is hosting the women's wrestling regional February 20, forcing the men on the road that day too.

So, in told UW-Stevens Point and UW-La Crosse will play two doubleheaders in 2027, January 23 at Mitchell Hall in La Crosse and February 13 in Stevens Point where fans, broadcasters, and event workers can make the classic walk down the hall from the Berg to the Qunadt.

In more late change doubleheader schedule news, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stout men have agreed to a swap of home dates creating two doubleheaders with the women. There will a doubleheader beginning at 1pm Saturday January 9th in Oshkosh with the return February 20th in Menomonie.

I think this is due to Oshkosh always hosting a track meet on the final day of the basketball regular season. And rather than rush things in Oshkosh and having to play that late 7pm game, they agreed to doubleheaders.

Would be really cool to get a double header beer garden pass.  I might be around for the January 9 tilt and if so, my gf Heather will want to attend, as its the last time she'll get to see AJ Uttech play live for Stout.
