Keep in mind: the Jeffs unfortunately are heading to Tufts on Tufts' winter break.  I wouldn't expect much of a crowd there. :(

So:

Amherst wins league either 9-0 or 8-1 (I hope so).
Conn College and Bowdoin finish with records of somewhere between 2-7 and 6-3 (pretty large range).
Middlebury doesn't win a NESCAC game or maybe wins one. (Who would they beat?)
Amh, Trin, Tufts and Bates are the top 4 not in order (unanimous).

I love hoops season.

Amherst 91
WNEC    63

Old Guy

Middlebury lost to RPI tonight, 69-65. A bad loss for Panthers - a game they should have won. 9-28 from the line: excruciating. A mediocre performance from the line and its a one-sided win.

Sam Simmons, a nice player, only played 20 minutes for RPI - foul trouble. For Midd, Harris had 21 points in 19 minutes: he can shoot.

9-28.

It's early. Middlebury's talented enough to compete in NESCAC. We'll see.

Anyone have any information on Cohen from Colby.  Was his injury severe.

All-around

How about Dec. 9th, when Amerst squares off against Brandeis. Possibly a battle for New England?  It sounds like Brandeis is a powerhouse this year.

Amherst 92
WNEC 56

Wheeler with 16, Mclaughlin 13, Olson with 10 and 8 A
Amherst shot 62% from deep and held WNEC to 20-55 from the floor. Amherst played 11 guys 10+ minutes.

3 Dunks (Coulibaly, Jones, Walters - with Walters taking the prize for nicest dunk of the game.) and 1 near dunk (O'Shea).

Sloppy play for both teams on defense in the first half.

Play Springfield tomorrow who showcases Anthony Pizzo at the point and Amherst's own scorer, Matt Petrides. Prediction to come.

Andrew Olson moved in to third all-time in assists at Amherst in only his fourth game of his junior year tonight.

He's kind of a big deal.

JeffRookie2

Speaking of Olson being a big deal, is there anywhere online you can still see 'The Shot' from last year?

JeffRook,

I got the file saved on my computer. I move it to the desktop during hoops season because i live vicariously through the hoops team. I can burn it onto a cd for you if you want. For that matter, I will burn it on a cd for anyone on D3hoops.com who wants a copy. I will even mail it to the first 3 tufts fans who request it.

Tomorrow:
Amherst 95
Springfield 54
In Amherst's largest win of the season.

http://www.jumbocast.com also has that game.  Search the "archive" section of their website.

Walzy:

Upload the clip to You Tube and put the link in a post, that way all AmHerst hoop fans can enjoy it.

Also, can anyone remember when the last time time a Williams hoops team lost four in a row?   The team is going through a tough stretch but I'm sure they'll right the ship and begin to play better basketball on the offensive end of the floor.  It is a young team and they'll learn from the adversity.

come on guys do we have to reopen these wounds.  Im still not fully healed from those two games.  By the way is it allright to compare olsen to crotty or an I way off base.  Just wanted to throw that out there.

met_fan

This has nothing to do with the NESCAC, but Lincoln scored over 200 points in a game today, winning by more than 120 points.  One player hit 21 3's.  That's some serious sportsmanship.

nescac hoops

olsen can be compared to crotty when amherst succeeds down in salem.

thunder, excuse walzy's lack of sensitivity - if i could find the tapes of him sulking off the field after to losing to williams everytime in his career i would send them his way, but then again those tapes would be hard to find b/c who really cares about soccer anyways.
