Good day for SJU to be playing at Public School Stadium. Up aways on the hill and on a cooler day (or night) if the breeze is coming off the lake it will get your attention.

Ice Bear

Ice sends his congrats to the Royals on taking care of business today against St. Olaf. Ice was unable to watch any of the game today as he was too busy watching his beloved Dutchmen ****ing stink up Geneva, NY while receiving a colonoscopy from the Hobart Pumpkinhead Statesmen.

Ice says it looks like Rocking Roste and Co. did enough today with 2 rushing TD's for Roste and Geebli adding 2 more of his own. Looks like they kept Olaf under 100 on the ground which is also decent.

Ice will retreat to the immediate side of his wife as we host 10, 10 year old girls for OliviaIcecub's birthday sleepover. While OliviaIcecub is devastated from Union's loss today she holds solace in the fact that Bethel won. Ice says the cupcakes and pizza will also help ease the pain.

It's been a while since I posted, waiting for a solid confirmation that Lamker has the Auggie program headed in the right direction. I think we have a big step forward today. I watched the Auggies on my phone at the Gopher game and missed a lot of the Auggies - Cobbers but I saw enough. A warm October this year.

Unfortunate that SJU lost the TOP battle today. :'(

Ice says he couldn't agree more Duff...whether or not the Johnnies can rebound from this we may not know until the MIAC Championship...

Welcome back ol Auggie! Today was not what I expected, but I'll admit it was good to see Augsburg at this level of play. Both teams need serious pass defense work. Cobbers seemed flat, but I don't want to take anything away from the Auggies' victory. Frankly, the Cobbers have looked flat too often this season. They still haven't gotten the spread offense down...literally lost any sign of a running game which was their hallmark for so many years. Defense has been at times spectacular, and then they have a game like today where they forget how to tackle a runner, Best to Augsburg on what seems to be a nice season in the making.

I'm quite surprised that Auggie Tech beat the Cobbers.

Duffman...you and me both. Bottom line is Augsburg earned the victory today. They played a harder fought game and they have some offensive weapons. I didn't check, but I think it has been a quarter century since Augsburg beat the Cobbers. Cobbers have been slowly drifting in reverse the past couple of years. I think the course can be righted with a few adjustments and a couple moe upper echelon players, but it's been frustrating to say the least.

They need to return to the double-wing offense!

Can't quite go there, though the Cobbs did have some very good seasons with that offensive scheme. The bigger issue is the inability to stop a good passing team, and that has been an issue for several years.

Feddema must have been banged up from the Gustie game.

Don't think he suited up for Gustavus either.  Not sure what happened to him or when.

SJU13

I believe he took a hit to the head against St. Olaf. My guess is out with a concussion.

DuffMan

Huh, I could have sworn I saw him in the GAC game, but the stats don't lie.  Must have tailgated too much.

We're getting to the pointy end of the season and the d3football.com Top 25 poll says we're going to have a rip-snorter of a conference championship game.  SJU is #4 and BU is #9.  I reckon BU at #9 is a bit rough on them but no one is betting their life over the poll numbers.

GAC doesn't get any votes, which I also think is a bit rough.  And CON and CAR are not far from votes, I don't think.  If they were in an eastern conference I bet they would have some.  It's a good season.  Hard.

Also, I think these sorts of results will solidify the division structure in the conference.  For quite a few years, I suspect.
