I have not been impressed with Wheaton's QB whatsoever. Horrible ball placement on multiple throws.

The one good pass Wheaton's QB threw was dropped by the receiver. Unreal.

For the first time since Bethel defeated North Central on November 24th, 2018 - 2,877 days ago - North Central falls at home by a final score of 13-10. Will St John's move up to #2 or do Wheaton & North Central just trade places? Oshkosh made River Falls look mortal. LaCrosse had a legitimate shot at beating Whitewater. Excited to see the updated polls & listen to the new episode of "Around the Nation"!

Bethel playoffs hopes look almost dead with the ncc loss and current npi

What a great game between Wheaton and North Central. The old adage that defense wins championships sure seemed evident in this game.

Quote from: corn horn on Yesterday at 05:33:58 PMGreat to see the 5-0 start, despite the level of competition. It has given the opportunity to build depth. I'm not such a fan of QB rotation, but all are crushing it and the play fresh. Concerned that tailback Mason Hughes went out in the second quarter and did not return. Cobbers will need their top guns when the roll into Collegeville.
Has the QB rotation been going on all season or did someone get dinged up a bit and sat as a precaution?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Cobbers QB rotation has been going on on an intentional basis all season. They each bring a little different feel. Walter appears to have a this point more command of the entire playbook, is a sharp passer, and if need be, a powerful runner. Mattern is a slick runner, but also with excellent throwing accuracy. I think he would have had a hay day with the old option offense. Both are very poised and play smart. They have some big targets to throw to. Normally it would drive me crazy, but the rotation is working...even the 3rd stringer has contributed well. Mattern did not play at all versus St Scholastica a week ago.

SJU is obviously formidable this year. This appears to be the best Cobber team in over 20 years. Saturday will show whether or not they have truly tightened the gap from the upper crust of the conference. Stating the obvious, but the Cobbers will need four quarters of high intensity, few penalties, and no turnovers. Penalties and turnovers have not been too problematic so far, but they have had a tendency to have only 2 of the 3 opening quarters at full throttle. Can't count 4th quarter, as those have largely been deep in the roster quarters so far.

Johnnies move a notch to #2. Cobbers break the ice and muster 3 votes toward d3 top 25.

Logan Hansen has St John's ranked #1 in his predictive ratings which, as I understand it, is a ranking of how teams are expected to finish the season & in his season simulation has the Johnnies with the highest likelihood to reach the Stagg Bowl to face Whitewater. Fun thinking of "what if" although we'd rather see an actual Stagg Bowl appearance & win! Next immediate test is Concordia!

All right - I was just impressed by Stouts interception and three laterals to score a teeder - it was way cool!
