Maniac-  I hope you are right about your predictions. I think that the Cobbs can put up close to 35, their offense has not been slowed down since the SJU game. I think a lot of that credit goes to the emergence of some sort of a passing game.

CK-  I hope to see you chewing on your hat saturday in Moorhead.

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

Assuming Concordia can beat Coe, which seems likely, I am very interested to see how Concordia's D can do against Linfield.  Concordia's D is huge and quick.  We can't get ahead of ourselves, but I think Linfield-Concordia could be a great game.  Especially if Concordia can consistantly gain yards by pounding against the Linfield D line.

OK Johnnies. Time for the weekly Stiftungfestivities head count and inventory. As you know, the Fighting Scot faithful will be joining us on Saturday with a couple of mini buses of folks.  The earliest arrivers of us need to rope off the area on the east side of the double wide for the MC vehicles. The Pace Arrow will commandeer the west side, as usual. We'll spread out the food etc. in the middle. We'll need a couple more tables, grills (Esq?), some brats. Please give a heads up on your attendance and contributions

Go Johnnies!

Retired Old Rat

I am planning an early arrival.  I can bring a grill and a table.
Might have some hot chocolate with a kick as well.

FINSLEFT, WHAT TIME DO YOU GUY'S USUALLY GET ROLLING. SINCE THE GAME IS AT NOON, ABOUT 8:00.  THATS ABOUT WHAT TIME WE USED TO START ON PINESTOCK WEEKEND, SITTIN ON THE ROOF OF THE CREAMERY.... ;D  WOULD LIKE TO MEET UP WITH SOME OF YOU GUY'S FROM THE BOARD.

Mr.Shoes

I'm a tentative yes. If I do show (and it is likely), I'll bring a large quantity of beer and some salty snacks.
Nice day, huh?

I'll be there but I will probably be a little late arriving (10-10:30). What should I bring?  Also, have we heard anything more on the Pipes & Drums making the trip up from Illinois???

Looks like we will have a contingent from the MC Pipe Band to entertain us during the festivities. We have also arranged for them to perform at halftime on the field. Should be fun.

I'll be there with: Polish sausage, Hamms, and a spare alternator for the trip.
Finsleft-I am staying up there Friday-so I can get into the parking lot very early on Saturday-let me know if you are arriving before 8:00.

My grill will be there, but I have an alum meeting (FINS, u cheater!), so I'll be able to drop it off and pick it up, unfortunately... I'm working on arranging the meeting "fieldtrip" to see another tailgate in action...

You bring up a good point - Once again, assuming we get that far, if anyteam has the the offense to keep the Linfield offense off the field, it would be Concordia's because of their ability to control time of possession.  That is assuming they can run on Linfield - but if we get that far, I would love to see how that game ends up.  Maybe I'm being really optimistic, but a Johnny/Cobber rematch would be a game I'm sure we'd all like to see again.

And all this talk about Clements stadium being a tough place to play - I somehwat agree with that.  But when I was playing, it always seem to bring out our best games. The atmosphere really gets you jacked up - more so that intimidating you.  Thats the way I looked at it.

As far as Coe, I'm not really worried at all - after seeing what Wartburg had last year, I don't expect a great team to come up to Moorhead in the "game of schools with unknown mascots."

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Apparently my ability to "quote" things has been taken away.  OH well.
