As a tandem, Keating/Elliott were far superior than Kof/Gearman. They clicked like Stockton and Malone. I always thought Keating was an over-acheiver, given his size, and felt he threw late often because he couldn't always see his targets. But he produced results and was a winner.
Raw talent-wise, put Gearman next to Elliott and you might say Gearman has better size and speed, but definitely not better hands. Kofoed next to Keating, Kofoed is more of a specimen and is still finding his legs. Could be great if he continues like he has. I think the CC game gave him a big boost of confidence, and you could almost sense that on the field in the games since.
But (cliche time here) the proof is in the pudding. Just win baby!

That said, the combinations have potential to be a wash, if only because Kofoed would edge out Keating. Kofoed is taller and has a better arm and is just as elusive. He hasn't won quite as much as Keating, but he will. Time will tell, and I can't wait to watch :D
Shoes-
Just read your post after writing mine. Great Johnnie minds think alike! I just need more words.

My thoughts, OAS.

Keating was a good QB, but anyone throwing to Blake would looks great except for me.  Denne to Elliot was a hell of a combo as well.  Although Keating and Kofoed are very different as QBs, I'd say talent-wise, they're pretty even.  Keating held an edge in his maturity (insert 6th year joke here) and his leadership on the field.  I think Kofoed has yet to develop that.

Gearman has talent, but he is no Blake Elliot.  I don't think you'll see the likes of Blake on a d3 field for a long time, if you ever did.  He had so many intangibles.

So, I'd say Keating-Elliot was better than Kofoed-Gearman.  But those two also have another season together, too.

A tradition unrivaled...

Blake was definitely one of a kind. He could control a game like no other. I think the level of confidence that he brought to the field (both what he had in himself and what his teammates had in him) was unparalleled. I have been following Johnnie football for more years than I care to admit and have seen many excellent QB and WR. Ramler, Seiler, Mayew, Herbst, Palmer,Loretz, etc... Blake stands out as the best!

It's about 20-25 min. From SCSU get to division and go left (west). this becomes highway 75 which joins 94. Once you are on Division, go straight until you see the SJU exit.

Good Luck to Concordia tomorrow!! I don't think Oxy can beat the Cats, so with any luck, I will be joining Cobber fans at Linfield next week! Go MIAC!!

Dude, you're a senior. Don't you have the SJU drinking schedule figured out by now? Wake up, drink, go to bed, repeat. Sometimes classes, work, and "responsibility" get mixed in—usually before step 2, and sometimes before step 1 (sleep in class? me? nooooo....). Step 2 is perpetual.
Nice day, huh?
