Cats & Cobbs put on a great show

Cobbs,

You played a great game and were much tougher than advertised.  You have nothing to be ashamed of and you have had a great season.

Good job containing the Cats for three quarters!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

ok Johnnie fans heres a question for you guys to debate... you have seen SJU against  both the cobbers and the warhawks do you think the hawks can pull off a win against linfield??

Ok Kubiac, i'll throw this out there.  The cobbers seem to always play us tough.  Even the years we had ( on paper) what looked like a much better team, they still seem to hang around.  If you picked up the feed from the beginning of the game out in McM., the cats seemed to have trouble with the physical part of the cobbers game.... as yuou know, that is not a problem with ww.  B E did start coming into his own when the cobbers got a little tired down the stretch, so it should be interesting.... had to chuckle at the announcers awe in their voices at how CC was staying in the game and keeping the cats in check.  Overall, its going to be a  hell of a game, one i 'ld love to see, but if ww plays really physical, they should be able to keep B.E. in check like the cobbers did.  They just have to be able to do it for 4 quarters. :-\

kubiack78, honestly I have a feeling WW is gonna get picked apart if they try the cover two stuff against LC. Just too many weapons at LC to leave the middle open like that, and if you take away the cover two their receivers will beat you deep. That said I think you can beat them by scoring points and forcing turnovers with your smashmouth style. Your QB needs to have another game like he did against SJU as well. This will be a nailbiter. Team with the least mistakes wins...

Tough day for the MIAC today  :(

Congrats to the Cats today as they took all the Cobbers could throw at them and came out on the winning side. Overall a great game by two quality teams.

SJU, what in hte world happened today??

Nest week's match-up should be a great Stagg...I mean West Region Final Match-up.  Knowing not much about either team, I will throw out a prediction of LC-41   WW-20

Congrats to the Cobbs on great season this year, I know it stings now, but there is a lot to be proud of.

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

You guys left it on the field.

I'll take 7-6 LINFIELD next week. 3-2. 3-0!
It's getting good.

Hmmmm..........developing.  Mount loses to SJU when Mount plays one of their less than sterling games, and SJU plays their game of the century.  The next  year Mount loses to MHB on a hail mary, get lucky, here we go pass.  All of a sudden Mount is "overrated".  Mount is "done".  The run is "over".

Yet, SJU follows up their Stagg Bowl victory with a 7-3 (sorry for your luck) season, and then loses HUGE to UWW.  Sooooo.....the question is.....are they "done"?  Are they "over"?  Is the Gags "God is on our side" kharma over?

I was at the game and was very impressed with UWW, primarily their O line and D backs. The rest was not shabby either. It's hard to tell how good they really are with SJU playing as badly as they did, but I give them at least a  50/50 chance next week. Good Luck.

Does anyone know if Kofoed's arm/shoulder is 100%. It didn't look like he was stepping into his throws, and throwing like I've seen him do before.

Cobbers,

Great job at Linfield.  Congrats from the IIAC on your season.  SJU congrats on your season as well.

Cobbers, Congrats on a great game and season. Nothing wrong with losing a game when you played the way you did today. Thanks for the wake up call, our boys needed it to get ready for UW-Whitewater and hopefully other teams. I think Linfield's losses to St. Johns made them a better team heading into last season, and maybe this tough game with another MIAC team will do the same for us this year.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Cobbers great game, you came to play, got many good comments about you after the game, cats needed some one to stand up with a spine. Go cats`!!

I've already posted my thoughts on the SJU-UWW game on the NWC and WIAC boards, but I wanted to congratulate the Cobbers and the Johnnies on good seasons.  Too bad they had to end today.

I was really surprised at how the Johnnies looked today.  UWW is good, but most of the TOs seemed to be mental errors.  Honestly, it looked like SJU (particularly the offense) just wasn't ready to play.
