Bethel fans,

If you don't take up the Godfather on this invitation, you are cheating yourself.  Great people, and the burgers are the heat.  You'll be glad you went!

So was this your behind the scenes reference, Dusty?  An argument over whether to start prepping for next season or to try and salvage what was possible from this one?  If it was, then I guess that's a reasonable argument, but I was expecting something more dramatic like a decision within the Abbey to re-emphasize the spiritual mission at SJU off the back of the new Bible (or something dramatic like that).  Something like a push to emphasize that SJU is a Catholic school first and a football school second.

(I'm not making any statement about what kind of school it is or isn't, I'm just explaining the level of drama I expected in the behind the scenes action Dusty alluded to.  Starting a sophomore QB, while a big deal, is not a tsunami.)

Now I'm starting to feel like College Football handicapper Danny Sheridan and his statements indicating he has proof positive that Cecil Newton did indeed take payment from Auburn University for his son Cam Newton.  Danny Sheridan declared he would reveal who the alleged "bag man" was for Auburn University delivering payment but in the end never announced his source or the perpetrator.

Although I've never announced I would name specifics or reveal hard evidence pointing to factors leading to the Johnnie Football demise, I'm simply here with everyone else with a best guess, I have heard from enough people indicating all is not well in Denmark... or Collegeville for that matter.  Frankly we can see the results on the field.

Would you say there's poison oozing out in the 56321 or have we just hit a talent dip in central Minnesota?

If this was a down season we'd be losing 35 - 14, not 63 - 7.  Something else is going on and quite honestly it's all been discussed here on the board.  I'll take a wild guess based on folks I've communicated with and say the coaching staff isn't all on the same page.

It's a guess.

Mrs Oz said, "But he's a stranger."  Don't worry, TDT, I backed you up and said, "He may be strange, but he's no stranger."

You'll probably end up kicking one of the girl's out of her bedroom and then have to sleep under pink bed covers, but I reckon you're probably OK with that.

Per Esquire:  [[However, that is also a cop-out: there are 200 guys on the sideline, and if you are telling me that your starters are the only ones who have a chance at executing correctly, then that is a coaching problem (either through recruiting or through practices). So, while the execution excuse may carry a little justification, you have the numbers to remove said offender.]]

This is intellectual dishonesty at its best, on behalf of the SJU coaching staff, and from an outsiders perspective they have been given a free pass on this front; that is until Esquire called it out!

Per DustySJU:  [[Would you say there's poison oozing out in the 56321 or have we just hit a talent dip in central Minnesota?]]

Neither, I would say the dysfunction among certain members of this staff has completely metastasized, while "market dynamics" have negated SJU's long standing competitive advantage.

For all JG's greatness, I question his role in allowing this situation (dysfunction) to exist.  Would he really stand for such non-sense at age 40, 50, 60, or even 70?

[[If this was a down season we'd be losing 35 - 14, not 63 - 7. Something else is going on and quite honestly it's all been discussed here on the board. I'll take a wild guess based on folks I've communicated with and say the coaching staff isn't all on the same page.]]

As my children would say to me when they were younger, "duh, thanks Captain Obvious!"

Sfury.  Read your article and I completely reject your continued assertion the SJU has been here before and overcame the slump of 19xx or 20xx.  While that is poetic, there is nothing in common today with 19xx or 20xx.

I have asked previously, can anyone call out the fact the Emperor is naked, without becoming persona on grata?  The answer appears to be in flux!

Good luck SJU, there could be no better way of removing that bitter taste in your mouth than pounding the xxxx of Bethel!  I hope that is what I find when I log onto the D3 scoreboard some time tomorrow afternoon.
