Say, speaking of the festivities this weekend, who's planning on going up there from the Cities (and returning afterwards)? Duffman, I know you're going. My silly roommates don't "feel like" making the drive from Minneapolis. Wusses. Anyone feel like carpooling?

I am. I would prefer to lead the pool rather than tag along (I have access to a blazer so 3 other people can pile in). Just have to have someone 'ok' with driving at night.

Let me know.

I was cleaning up some old bookmarks and came across this. It's two years old, but just one of those pieces I thought I'd share for the Johnnie faithful.

Funny thing... I tend to do a skim of these articles but it says the MUC beat RPI 66-0.... I thought SJU beat RPI... :)

Ryan,
That was so figured out an hour ago.

Thanks for the article, anyone else notice it gives MUC(k) credit for Monkeystomping RPI and not Bridgewater?

QuoteSure the Purple Raiders won their semifinal 66-0 over RPI (who?), but St. John's has Gags.

RPI might get MonkeyStomped in the playoffs, but RPI NEVER gets TripleMonkeyStomped in the playoffs!!!

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Willy Wonka

Whelp, Red Wing (night game) won and so did Cannon Falls (day game). I may be looking at a fun-filled day of high school football in southern MN instead of a sweet day dressed up as an old school WWFer, eating Stiffy burgers and playing Hang My Balls with the boys (and TDT, Wilma-willing). I may not even be able to go out afterwards.

To make things even worse, I will likely be missing Danny Myers XP attempt for 10 big ones at halftime of the Gophers game!

Who says life doesn't suck?  >:(

At least I get an extra hour of sleep this weekend. You know what I'm talking about Frank.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Good point RT.  105 must be hallucinating tonite...

RT & Bus Driver: My bad. I thought the sweet black background with gold 3-D lettering that RT has near his copyrighted tag line was  a choice. :-[
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I vote for the ROR version with different logos on the front and back. Will buy three.

As to great defense players I assume most of you know Gary Larsen (of the front 4 Vikings Purple People Eaters Fame -Page, Larsen, Eller, and  Marshall ) played for Concordia. Gary was all-pro in 1969 and 1970,

John has film of Gary being blocked on two successive plays by a 165 pound pulling guard. In one instance Gary is laid on his back. I think this film made it to the Vikings and was played for Gary by Bud Grant.

TRU,
Yup, he was still showing that tape a few years ago, and I'll bet he always will.

Johnnie Red

Faunch, the Sheriff does know (and employs) the crime scene investigator you mention. I actually had Mr. CSI join me in Gustieland a few years ago when the Johnnies were in town. Rather convenient for those Henderson lads to make the trip to St. Peter.

Veek and Finsleft, I am looking forward to the "new and improved" grill on Saturday morning. I am thinking of bringing along some chicken and beef kabobs to add to the menu.

WAHOO3

A good article on the Oles, and a little mention of Bechdol that I know Johnnies will like.

Nice article, Wahoo-- I was going to post it myself.

I am curious-- not about STO's practices, but about the MIAC in general.  What are the recruiting policies for the MIAC? I know the MWC, for example, does not allow off-campus recruiting at all, but I thought D3 limited contact outside of football games (even at football games, I don't think coaches can talk to player after the game)?

"Meidt says he and his staff attend high school football games every Friday and will conduct recruiting visits every day once the high school season is over."

The above statement does not imply Meidt is doing a visit to a player; rather, a prospect could be coming to look at STO.  But I was curious as to what the rules are.  Anyone?

Shoes, I'm afraid that we must insist that you read all 340 pages :P

Do Oles only post before noon?  I guess their posting habits will be just like their season.  Start off strong early, only to fizzle in the end.

Oles have jobs.

Esq - Home Visits are very typical, the teams that need to recruit (all but Johnnie) I am assuming do home visits. Its a huge part of the recruiting effort in all divisions as much as an on-campus visit.

The 2nd shift at McDonald's is a glorious job! They only trust the best with the dreaded lunch and dinner rush!

You guys should get jobs/still be going to school where you get to have a computer in front of you all day, not a cashregister, makes posting much easier!

They have the internet on computers now? Whoa...
Nice day, huh?
