Quote from: faunch on July 09, 2025, 11:25:58 PMDon't you have state softball this weekend? 😉

Yes--8:00 am Saturday in Jordan.
Also, state baseball 11:00 am Friday in Cambridge.

I'm umpiring three 16U softball games tomorrow and three 12U games on Saturday.

Hope the Johnnies can make it to the playoffs and actually go somewhere this year.  The last year's defense looked, it's probably a vain hope.   Missing the Tommies in the league.  Missing those road trips to Abilene, TX, McMinnville, OR, San Antonio, TX.  Even a trip to Pella, IA and Jaarsma..........?

The road trips I miss the most are the two I made to Salem.  Second one was better than the first.  The first one was very good.

I still have Mrs Oz's commitment that if the Johnnies ever make the championship game again, then I can go.  I almost don't want them to make it as I don't know if I could take the heartbreak of hearing, "You weren't serious about that, were you?"

A fun little tidbit for the Johnnies faithful on here. My model has SJU ranked #5 in the preseason, but I did a quick analysis of each team's home schedule, and the Johnnies only ranked 170th in that regard. Favored by an average of more that 7 TDs per game in their 6 home games.

LOL.  Glad I just dropped $520 on tix for those 6 home games.

Trying to decide if it's worth making the trip up for any of those home games. I also used to pay for the season live stream pass but figure why this season when almost every home game will be over by the end og the first quarter.

I probably won't make it to many of those games, but once you give up your reserved seats, it's hard to get decent seats again, so they pretty much have me over a barrel.

Stay tuned, I will probably give away a lot of tix this year.  ;)

Bet you've got fall ball coming up...I think I'm going to umpire softball on Sundays. I kind of like having Saturday open for college football.

Don't know if I'll make many games either.  I consider the cost of my season tickets this year to be a donation to Johnnie athletics.  Certainly, little value in return.

I doubt anyone from SJU athletics or football checks this but I think that video streaming should included in the season ticket package...maybe a $10 add on?
It might impact attendance but so does the horrendous home schedule for the upcoming season. Hardcore fans are going to go no matter the opponent.
