The Rams and 49ers will be playing in Melbourne next year on Sept 9th or 10th.  I wasn't planning to go, as the venue isn't good for the gridiron, but if Bartch manages to get another contract, I think I'll need to go to represent the Johnnies.

Ha! The local radio and TV weather terrorists are doing their best to scare the population with the doomsday predictions of death and everlasting misery.

My sense is after the spring like days we've had lately the shovels have been hung up for the season and any snow that comes "will just have to melt, dammit."

Looks like all the spring breakers have escaped just in time.

I saw a Robin in the Colorado Blue Spruce in my yard Thursday. My grandpa used to say "the Robins get snowed on three times before spring is here to stay". The storm coming today and into tomorrow will probably count as three routine snowfalls....... ;D

Some scandals brewing at D3 indoor national championships. ISU to Rowan transfer Seth Clevenger won two titles this year. He was suspended at ISU, supposedly for doping. All the other medalist walked off the podium each time he was presented his national title trophy.

Big news out of Collegeville as SJU parts ways with wrestling coach Kevin Schiltz.
I'm hopeful that AD O'Brien is committed to bringing the program back to competitiveness.  They have an opportunity to be great, but the school will need to commit to it.

Lots of shake ups with SJU coaching. I'm wondering if the days where you take a job as a coach and stay 40+ years are a thing of the past at SJU.

I would say yes. The administration is changing, but the people who take these jobs has likely changed as well. Much more opportunity for mobility. I do think that you must have national success to get pulled up to a high-level D2 or D1 job. Lance Leipold is an example. UWRF just lost Matt Walker to Drake. The transfer portal has caused the coaching carousel to spin even faster.

Well... I'll be skipping the NFL game, now set for Sept 11.  $100 for fourth deck, top row nose bleeds.  $700 for bottom deck.

They'll get 95,000 in attendance.  At $400 average seat price... that's $38 million just in gate receipts.  Far out.  Too rich for my blood.

Ticket prices for damn near everything are ridiculously high anymore.
The exception remains d3 sports. The best entertainment at the best price.

As sort of a counterpoint to BDB, Johnnie Football Spring Standup

It is a fundraiser, but $250 is kind of steep.

What an odd photo of Gary Fasching. That is him on the left, correct?  He looks like Huey Lewis's less good looking brother.

Bartch signed with the lions yesterday. He's fallen on his feet every time he joins a new team, better than the last.

I think it seems a little steep, too.
