Quote from: sjujohnnie on October 07, 2026, 10:20:37 PM47 glorious pages of St John's game notes have been posted ahead of Saturday's matchup against Macalester.

Saturday seems like a great day to rebuild the hubs on my boat trailer and wash/wax the boat while I listen to the slaughter.

It's just not the same watching the broadcasts put on by other programs when St John's is on the road. I miss listening to VOJ and crew and there's no way that I can watch an away broadcast while listening to the coverage of VOJ and crew as the radio broadcast is ahead of the video feed. Will St John's put up more than 70 points for the 3rd time this season? For that matter, will they hang 70 or more on the Oles and Saints? Score predictions for Saturday?

Mac probably isn't as bad as you are thinking, nor is Ole. Yes, SJU could still roll up 70, but why? What is statement are you hoping the make by rolling a string of 70s? If it's coming that easily, have your starters conquer their objectives, then give everyone playing time, play clean, stay injury free, and run the clock.

St Scholastica is another story. It will take a special Johnnie effort to finish well clear of triple digits no matter who is on the field.

So Macalester to have the Jimi Hendrix national anthem pregame.

Heh. Still living in rebellion at Mac. A 50-year-old mainstream classic rock rebellion.

SJU plays like this first quarter next week and CC will win

The Johnnies have taken this game easy, playing like they are lying in bed early on a Sunday morning listening to the radio like I am.  Fasching was not happy in the halftime interview and I don't think he'll be much happier after the game.  I think the D will be making the rest of the MIAC feel it from now on.

I love how we're bitching about a 62-6 game. Sure, it wasn't the prettiest and there are some mistakes to address, but that's still a thorough thrashing, ladies and gents.
This was the best Mac team I've ever seen. Take that for what it's worth.

That's true, duff, but the Jays did have 8 penalties for 71 yards. It was a thrashing and we can't expect the Johnnies to turn up BU sharp every weekend.

Mac was improved and had a good crowd there for homecoming. I wasn't surprised SJU wasn't dominating at the start but from an about mid second quarter on it was all Johnnies. Good to get a little sloppy play out of the way. Cobbers are the only real test left in the regular season.

Sounds like Herberg may have delivered a thrashing with his tongue at halftime. Will be interesting to see how we look against the Cobbers!

Was disappointed that Whitewater beat LaCrosse by a score of 24-18. La Crosse had 4 cracks at the endzone from within the 10 at the end, but was unsuccessful and turned it over on downs allowing Whitewater to kneel it out.

Now my eyes will be on the North Central/Wheaton game.

Cobbers had some very fine individual play today, and while they finally got a quick start, they faded a bit in the second quarter. Still, it was a pretty solid game all around. The shovel pass was used effectively. Im guessing the popped it into the practice squad to prep for the Johnnies next week, and decided to implement it. Defensively they were more in containment mode than the quick bull rush, which I also suspect was a look ahead to next week.

Great to see the 5-0 start, despite the level of competition. It has given the opportunity to build depth. I'm not such a fan of QB rotation, but all are crushing it and the play fresh. Concerned that tailback Mason Hughes went out in the second quarter and did not return. Cobbers will need their top guns when the roll into Collegeville.

I was observing him "conversing" with some of the other defensive coaches on the track at half time and yes he did not appear pleased.

I missed on the close game today, as it ended up being the Saints-Knights game, with Carleton winning by a score.

As has been mentioned here already, many eyes will be on the Johnnie-Cobber game next weekend.

Bethel and Gustavus should win easy enough this coming week, and Carleton should win against Hamline. Lastly, it will be interesting to see which team bounces back for a win between Macalester and Augsburg, who each were soundly defeated today.

RF wins in overtime against Oshkosh - yikes.

Who had North Central trailing after their first possession 2-0 on their bingo card?
