Andrew---

All I can say is since I'm the one who originally commented on what was said during the broadcast, I took Pat's comments to be directed, at least indirectly, toward me. However, thank you for alerting me of the possibility that such was not Pat's intent. It will be interesting to hear his explanation.

AndOne's account of Saturday's broadcast seems to indicate differently, Pat.

Based on one comment as opposed to the body of work that I've listened to? I'm surprised you'd take that as indicative of the whole.

"Body of work"? How many games on WETN have you heard this year, Pat?

This year's WETN crew may indeed be competent. But the comments AO cited that the WETN crew made about the Crazies on Saturday night were out of line, and I'm glad that AO called them out for it.

About four. It's good to watch or listen to ranked teams and Wheaton has either been one or played one a couple times this season, IIRC.

Pat---

I made NO assessment whatsoever regrading the Wheaton broadcasters "body of work." I don't know from where or why you got the idea that I did anything even remotely close. Its the first time I've listened to a WC broadcast this year so I'm not even qualified to make such an assessment. What I DID do is merely report the facts as they took place during the one specific game in question. The Wheaton broadcasters DID make the comments I reported about the dress and conduct of the NPU students. And, those comments struck me as being out of line.

That you basically accused me of inditing the broadcasters entire "body of work" is rather insulting. Furthermore, as evidence of the fact that I'm innocent of the charge you've leveled against me, I submit into evidence my post # 13867 dated 12 February, 2008 which states, in part, "the actual game description was pretty good." As this is your baby, and you are basically judge and jury in the D3Hoops courtroom, I humbly beseach your honor for a directed verdict of acquittal!

Huge game tonight in Kenosha... Should be a decent turnout for a Wednesday night game being that it is St. Josephs high school/Joe Higgins night.  Anybody from St. Joes gets in free, and if they bring a sign for Joe they get a free popcorn... Ha should be interesting... Well im off...

This is a great season thus far in the CCIW - far more competitive than I thought it would be.  It was said yesterday that all of the team could make the Tourney?  Nice!

At the half: IWU 45, Millikin 21.  I suspect we can safely say that seven teams have a chance at the tourney!

I think everybody except MU is still eligible to get into the CCIW Tournament.
The way I see it
AC/IWU already "in"
WC  I think will be #3 seed, definitely in.
EC  needs to win 2 of their last 3 and even then might need some help.  They have been skidding rapidly.
Carthage  Tough to read, needs to win 2 of their last 3
NC  really needs to win out and hope.
I think you will see
1 Augie vs. 4 Elmhurst
2 IWU vs. 3 Wheaton.

Titan Q

IWU 95
Millikin 52

A nice win for the Titans, who played without starter Sean Dwyer (turf toe, whatever the heck that is).  Dwyer's starting replacement, Jordan Morris, led the way with 21 points on 8-9 FG, including 5-6 from 3.  Doug Sexauer added 12 pts and 8 rebounds.

14 Titans scored in the game.

north park beats north central by 17 (i think).

Standings through tonight's games...

Augustana 8-3
Illinois Wesleyan 8-3
Wheaton 7-4
Elmhurst 6-5
Carthage 5-6
North Central 4-7
North Park 4-7
Millikin 2-9

Saturday:

Augustana @ Millikin
North Park @ Elmhurst
Illinois Wesleyan @ Wheaton
Carthage @ North Central

Mr. Ypsi

Senior Titan Brian Nussbaum, whose very promising career was totally destroyed by a series of injuries, was 1-1 from beyond the arc, 1-1 from inside the arc, 2-2 from the line, and 6 rebounds - all in 8 minutes!  Way to go, Brian! :o

North Park defeated North Central, 82-65.  The Vikings led 39-33 at the half and held the lead throughout the second half.  Five Vikings finished in double figures, led by Jason Gordon and Antonio Stevens (16 apiece), Nick Williams (13), Dan Oziminski (12), and Ed Whitaker (10).  North Park had the trey working tonight, hitting 13 of 21.  They were also 13-of-17 from the charity stripe.

What a difference there must have been in atmosphere at the hangar -- the box score reported 109 in attendance, versus the big, lively crowd at the Crackerbox this past Saturday.
