A nice looking class of freshmen !!!

TitanQ....I'm eating crow right now.   :)   Your lineup for tonight was correct.
I'd still put Zimmer in there some where though.  He can shoot from anywhere.
Olivet was quick and athletic so IWU's guards had their hands full!  It was a good game though.

I would have gone all-in but didn't want to take all your chips so early in the the season!

Olivet Nazarene head coach Ralph Hodge told Ron Rose this week he thinks he has one of his best teams...and obviously Hodge has had a lot of really good teams.  Unfortunately, this will be the first time in 15 years or so IWU and Olivet won't meet.  The annual non-conf game vs ONU was always great preparation for the CCIW schedule.

I don't think there is a 3 guard combination in the CCIW as quick and athletic as Olivet's backcourt.  It was a close game too.  Actually I thought IWU's posts outplayed Olivet's.

Hodge has a really good freshman post...Jordan Harks...I might not have his last name correct.  He will be good.  and he almost came to the CCIW.

CCIWFAN3--

You do indeed have the name right. Jordan Harks from Glenbard South in Glen Ellyn, IL

He was fairly heavily recruited by several CCIW schools. I believe Augie and North Central were his top CCIW choices, but he was always likely headed the scholarship route, either NAIA, or D2. I believe D2 Hillsdale was looking at him pretty closely.

I remember a major factor in his choosing Olivet was its religious orientation.

Just a reminder that today is the day the CCIW office is hosting a live chat for fans and the media (with the preseason poll released afterwards).  The men (11:00am) follow the women (9:00)...

Q, you're forgetting Gregurich who in my opinion is the best IWU guard in the last 30 years. Based on last nights play Zimmer should be starting with Schick getting  plenty of time coming off the bench.

CCIWFAN3

I agree clemac....but actually John K. started, not Schick, ....but even then Zimmer played better than any other 3 guard on IWU.  John K. is a natural 4 at the DIII level.  Zimmer hit one shot from the corner that was unbelievable.

Thanks Clem - what high school is Gregurich from?

For what it's worth, I heard Zimmer was IWU's leading scorer last night (18 points).

Bob, I think from seeing Mark Scherer's comments this morning as well, it is a good bet that Joe Acosta will start at the 4 for the Bluejays at least to begin the year. That is the vibe I have been getting since practices started as well.

For those checking out the CCIW chat, can you give some highlights when it's done?  I don't have an opportunity to view it while at work (though I did just email myself the first half to read later...)

Saw that, Ryan.  I revised EC above too.

Joe Acosta is listed as a 6-2 guard...we're talking about the same guy, right?
