No doubt, they will be lucky to get past Carroll.

Wisconsin obviously must not be a basketball crazy state like IL. Too much snowmobiling and ice fishing in winter I guess. Selling out 1400 tickets for an important 2nd round game on Sat. doesn't seem like a big deal to me, unless you are a NCC fan who will get shut out due to inadequate capacity. Heck, my high school gym in rural McLean County seats 2000+ and it was built in 1952. 1400 seat gyms aren't found in the CCIW, the exception being North Park, which in general, has the worst athletic facilities in the league.

Sorry for bringing up an old discussion, but it wasn't ever really resolved. About Bollier and the free throw record. Dennis, if you are right, then the CCIW records page is wrong, which is entirely possible I guess. But they list the previous record as .920, Jerry Gray, Millikin, 1974 (46-50) (min-30 attempts). Check it out here: http://www.cciw.org/winter_bball_m/mbbcciwrecords.php

Well, I think that is quite an overstatement.  IWU would be the favorite, just not by a heck of a lot.

Beginning to remember why I stopped posting...but you're right IWU is the favorite...as they have been most of the year w/o much luck (or blocking out)(or making shots).

Something like this is actually doable. For several years (Knightstalker would know how many) the NJAC and CUNYAC circuits have played an All-Star game after the conclusion of the season, and this year the ODAC and USA South are instituting one as well, to be played the Wednesday after the Final Four. There's no reason why the CCIW couldn't do the same thing with either the WIAC or the MIAA.

Thing is, it couldn't be one All-Conference team facing the other. Because of NCAA rules it would have to consist strictly of seniors who have just completed their eligibility. That might even make it a better experience than a contest of All-Conference teams, since it would be the collegiate swan song of all the players who compete in it. Think of how cool it would be to see Chris Martin, Rick Harrigan, Jay McAdams-Thornton, Keelan Amelianovich, Adam Dauskas, Tony Bollier, Jordan Kemper, Adam Teising, Ray Vicario, Brett Mathisen, Reid Jones, and Keena Johnson all compete as collegians one last time, but on the same team.

I'm sure that MIAA fans would love to see a squad of seniors Brandon Crawford, Mike Bailey, Eric Voisin, Greg Immink, Andy Phillips, Kyle Konwinski, Andy Draayer, Kyle Trewhella, De'Andre Pruitt, Jeff Nokovich, Billy Collins, Carlton Hill, and Micah Williams represent their league. And WIAC fans would really enjoy a final glimpse of Jeremy Manchester, Melvin Williams, Terry Farmer, Greg Chaisson, Marcus Conigliaro, Scott Gibson, Andy Jahnke, LeVon Crawford, Brian Bauer, Mark James, Tyler Birkel, and Kevin Turner.

I would still take the CCIW seniors over the seniors of any other confrence!  I've said it before and I'll say it again, if there was a D3 RPI the CCIW would be 1.  That said I'm not going to say that one of the CCIW teams is going to Salem, but it is possible for any one of three teams to make the trip

Is there a spot in the FAQ's that talks about your number of posts and you status on the board...ie second string, starter, and so on?  Sorry if there is I must have missed it.

That would be super-sweet. Now that Grand Rapids has stopped their annual "Ta-Wa-Si" spring showcase (financial reasons) the West Michigan region has nothing to look forward to for outgoing seniors...Take 5 seniors from the MIAA and 5 from the WIAC and 5 from the CCIW and no doubt your team would be cruising through to Salem...

This is my first post in several years, although I've continued enjoying the posting up feature of the website.

Before and after attending the IWU-UofI exhibition in Chambana, I have to admit I had great expectations.  In March, a lot of questions remain to be answered and the Titans now have the opportunity to answer all of them.

I've seen a few CCIW games this season and I still think in terms of skill and athleticism the Titans are above the rest.  HOWEVER, this set of Titans has never seemingly dominated at a time when it mattered most.  Some may be eager to compare this postseason run to 2001 (the last time we saw the beautiful Bridges game). The 2005-06 Titans have much more athleticism than that team and much better individual players.  Remains to be seen...that team didn't come together until the tournament.  Hopefully that will be true for this team, too.

Either way, this set of Titans have been incredible to watch over the last 4 years and going into Friday I can confidently say they have the ability to make it Salem.

Here's to hoping we actually can play the *missing* game from 1996 (which it has been argued would've been one of the best D3 games of all time). Go IWU!

Congrats also to KEELAN on the honor! Great career, and I look forward to seeing you lead the charge on to Salem!

I not a big IWU fan, but I love basketball, and they play it very well.  Thus, I enjoy watching IWU play, especially Keelan.  What a great player and PERSON!  I'm extremely happy for him and his family.  They are most definitely proud.

I knew what type of person he was, by watching him play JV HIS FRESHMAN YEAR. (That's gotta be some sort of record, 3-Time All-American that played JV his first year.)  He played hard and enjoyed himself, at least that's what I saw.  In this day, where many young players think their sh-- doesn't stink.  It's nice to see a throwback player every once in a while, a guy that let's his game speak.  And speak quite loudly it does!

If I'm not mistaken, every gym in the CCIW holds 1400 or more except for North Park.  There is no way 1400 can fit in that little gym, unless they open up the stage area like they used to when Bosko was there, and even that is a stretch.  I'm not really following your statement very well......... ???

Greg, the NJAC CUNYAC all star game has been going on for five of six years now.  NJCU hosted the first ever.  They are fun and the seniors get a chance to show off a little.  The CUNY NJAC game turns into a playground game at times, with alley-oops passes for dunks, players taking each other on one on one.  It is fun to watch and fun for the players.  It is just one big pickup game with coachs and refs.

The two conferences have also held the CUNY NJAC challenge series in recent years.  The first place teams from the previous season play each other, the second place teams play each other etc.  I think more neighboring conferences should work together like this.  Even though the CUNY teams on a whole are not as good as the NJAC teams, their best players are just as good as the best players from the NJAC.

Oh man, I don't know anything could ever make up for not seeing what that '96 game would have looked like, but it would be sweet to see that rematch for the national title any year. Maybe they could play a 10-year reunion exhibition beforehand. The fact that those two teams didn't get to face off back then was a major shame.

Whether it is IWU or Hope or any other teams still alive, I would have to think that a matchup in the finals this year between the Midwest sectional winner and the Great Lakes sectional winner, whoever those two are, would make for quite a game.
