Don't encourage him, WUPHF.

I was going to come back and remind him that his Titans were ranked higher by the AVCA, but duly noted, I'll drop it...  ;)

If I hear nothing of this on the boards tomorrow, I'll assume that the Bears picked up the W...  ::)

Frankly, I'd prefer that he went back to opera talk. It's far less exasperating.

I think Pat should grab the www.d3titans.com domain in the off chance it will channel things over yonder instead of to this neighborhood...

Picking the UChicago starting line-up is never an easy task, but I was surprised to see two question marks.  Then, I went to the roster and Sustacek is no longer listed.  That is a huge loss for the Maroons.

My guess so far...

G - Jordan Baum, 6-3 Jr.
G - Noah Karras, 6-4 Sr.
G - Justin Jackson, 6-4 Sr.
F/C - Ryan Jacobsen, 6-5 Sr.
F/C - TBD

Sustacek suffered a career-ending wrist injury.

Wow, that is terrible. Best of luck to him as he recovers.

IWU loses by 1?!

The Women's Basketball team lost by 1, yes...

Ok. I just checked the stats link real quick. I didn't realize that was the women's game. Thanks.

* Jason Gregoire: 12 pts, 2 reb, 2 assists
* Grant Wolfe: 9 pts, 7 assists

Not terribly pretty but I thought the Titans did a nice job grinding this one out.  Chicago presented a lot of problems with their 4/5 out offense and dribble drive.

Brady Rose was in foul trouble the entire game.  Picked up his 4th with 14:00 to play...played just 21 minutes.  Rose made a few very big shots, however, down the stretch when he returned.

Colin Bonnett had a really nice game - provided a scorer on the floor at all times when Rose was sidelined.

IWU got very nice contributions from young guys - Charlie Bair (So), Grant Wolfe (So), and Matt Leritz (Fr).  Adding Doug Wallen and a couple others to this group, the Titans really have a nice nucleus for the future.  I think 6-6 post Leritz is going to be a really good player - super skilled 4 man.  And I really like Bair - blue collar, hard working guy.

IWU starts 1-0 and plays at Calvin in Grand Rapids November 16.

Yes, a good start for IWU.  Grinding it out, never really in control, but able to pull out the W.

Totally agree with Q about the future, the new players.  Rose didn't play well tonight, surely Bonnett did -- offensively and defensively.  He was everywhere.    Gregoire a sold contribution.

And, I think Bair will have a good year, backed up by Baker.  But, the most impressive newbie was surely Fr. Matt Leritz and the energizer bunny, never-stop-hustling and causing trouble to the opposition, Grant Wolfe.  Love his energy, his game.

The season begins on a good note.
