CCIW in non-conference regular season play:

2017-18:    54-27 (.667)
2018-19:    52-28 (.650)
2019-20:    54-27 (.667)
---
2021-22 to date: 40-15 (.727)

Still a ways to go and some challenging games littering the schedules for various teams, but if the trend holds, this will help a bit with SOS and whatnot at year end.

Update on the above with up to three non-conference games to go. (In addition to North Park's game on Sunday with Eureka, NPU-vs-Dominican and North Central-vs-Central both are listed as 'postponed' with no reschedule announced.)

NPU @ Dominican was not postponed. It was canceled.

Both the NCC and Central web site schedules show their game that was supposed to be played in Orlando, FL is cancelled not postponed.
Nothing finalized yet, and the possibility of finding a "replacement" game may very well never come to fruition, but I've heard there have been some preliminary feelers exchanged (not with Central) concerning the possibility of finding what would be a 25th game.
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

There should be a special recognition for any team that actually manages to play a full 25 game schedule this season! ::)

North Park 81
Eureka 58

Michael Osborne: 21 pts, 10 rebs, 3:1 a:t0
Gabe Johnson: 11 pts, 6 rebs
Jordan Boyd: 11 pts
Karl Polk, Jr: 10 pts
Jalen Boyd: 8 rebs

After a painful first half in which the Vikings had an enormous amount of trouble getting the ball to go through the cylinder -- in fact, three of their first five shots hit the bottom of the rim -- NPU finally found its equilibrium in the second half and ran away with the ballgame, pushing the lead up to 30 at one point and giving Tom Slyder a rare opportunity to empty his bench.

That "that's more like it" second half is the type of basketball that the Vikings are going to have to play from now on, because from here on out it's nothing but CCIW competition. And, with Wheaton coming to town on Wednesday, there is certainly going to be a prodigious ratcheting-up of competition from what the Vikings have seen over the past few days. They're certainly good enough to handle the task, as they proved against Elmhurst, but they can no longer afford to have the offense go into the tank the way that it did in the first half. It's one thing to have your defense hold down a team like Eureka when the offense isn't clicking, but CCIW competition is another matter entirely.

My warnings aside ... boy, it sure is good to have Osborne and Sanders back. This is the Vikings team I've come to respect over the past month.

Coaches are the ones who typically do the scheduling, Chuck, not ADs.

This whole process has been fun to follow. With the regular intensity we have in the CCIW I think that we forget that sports and following your team are supposed to be fun. The whole "cultural exchange" aspect of this has been a good thing. Plus, funny how the concept of beating a team could be good for them in the long run.

North Central (7-4, 2-1) @ Augustana (6-6, 1-2)
Carthage (7-6, 0-4) @ Carroll (4-9, 0-4)
Elmhurst (11-2, 3-1) @ Illinois Wesleyan (9-2, 2-1)
Wheaton (11-2, 3-1) @ North Park (7-3, 3-0)

Millikin gets to do whatever people do in Decatur on Wednesday nights in January if they're not playing basketball.
