You bet. Cory is still holds a record (maybe two) at IWU.

Ahem.....Korey....

But yes, I have fond memories of back to back road trips to Salem in 96 and 97 while I was still in my Dolan Hall days.

Ah, that explains it.  8-)

Can't wait for the bell to ring at Merner or Faganel when Dempsey and Tunney go head-to-head!

Just hope that the refs don't do a long count if Dempsey is dribbling for more than five seconds.

But you know so well how many freshmen PGs, not having been restrained by a shot clock in HS, have a strong tendency to dribble..dribble.., and dribble some more.

We should give out an award -- let's call it The Early Bird Trophy -- to the CCIW head coach who not only completes his annual scheduling task ahead of his peers but gives it to his school's SID and has it posted online first.

Here you go, Mike Schauer. Add this to your virtual mantel. Congrats!

Greg I must say this is hilarious

Good get for NCC: Nathan Palmer from Geneva will be playing in Naperville. Palmer averaged 16 points this past season for the Vikings, was Third Team All State according to the IBCA.

Congratulations to former North Park PG Michael Thomas ('81), who will be inducted into the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame this year. North Park's all-time leading scorer, a three-time national champion, and a three-time All-American who was also named the 1981 CCIW Most Outstanding Player, Michael T. will join his former teammate Michael Harper and his former head coach Dan McCarrell in the SCBHOF.

His school's all-time leading scorer.

Wow. Anybody wanna' argue with that? 😉
Pretty damn impressive! 😎

North Park's 2026-27 non-con schedule includes only two home dates: Nov. 6 vs. Lake Forest, and Nov. 21 vs. UW-Eau Claire. The Vikings will be on the road for the UW-Platteville tourney on Nov. 13-14 (my understanding is that it's a classic format that will include the Vikings playing UW-Superior as well as the Pioneers, but perhaps that's been changed); at Greenville on Nov. 18; at DePauw on Dec. 16; and at Concordia (IL) on Jan. 2.

The Vikings will also take part in a tournament at Hope on Dec. 29-30. For the past two years that holiday tournament has been dubbed the Glenn Van Wieren Classic and has featured both Hope and Olivet in a classic format. No word yet on whether or not Hope is going to maintain that format, but I wouldn't mind seeing NPU take on the Dutchmen and the Comets at DeVos. That's good competition.

Aaron Jacobs is the new head coach at Rockford. He'll be taking another NPU assistant coach, Mark Smith, with him as to serve as his primary assistant and low-post-players specialist. Best of luck to Aaron and Smitty with the Regents! Ed McGhee is now into his search to fill those vacancies.

With Jalen Boyd getting his masters degree this weekend from NPU and his job search in full gear, Ed has also had to fill the GA role for the Vikings that Jalen is vacating. That's been accomplished, as Ed announced at Tuesday's end-of-year athletics convocation that graduating backup center Dylan Fuzak will be NPU's new men's basketball GA. Congrats to Dylan!

Speaking of North Park's athletics convocation, the coveted Male Athlete of the Year Award went to Mike Vuckovic. It's the first time that a men's basketball player has won it in nine years, so kudos to Mike on that well-deserved accomplishment. The men's basketball team also got the awards for Biggest Moment (Marquis Vance's buzzer-beating trey to topple UWSP in triple overtime) and Best Win (the double-OT win over Wheaton in the CCIW tourney quarterfinals).

Quote from: GusD on April 24, 2026, 08:03:08 PMIt hasn't been posted yet, and probably won't be for sometime, but a little birdie whispered in my ear that NCC (or possibly Naperville University by then  ;) ) will play the following non-conf schedule next season;

11/11 @ Aurora
11/17 vs Hope
11/20 @ Webster
11/21 @ Westminster
11/24 vs Benedictine
12/16 @ Wis. Lutheran
12/20 vs Pacific Lutheran
1/1 - 1/2 UMHB + 1 other @ UMHB

So trips to Missouri and Texas.

In addition to host UMHB and the Cardinals, the other two teams participating will apparently be McMurry and fellow CCIW member Augustana. Augie and NCC will play the Texas squads the first day and then, of course, trade opponents the following day.
