By the way Hope's had an indoor tennis facility for almost 15 years now, clearly Calvin felt they had to duplicate that effort. 8)   Is there a football program in that "master plan".

Not unless Title IX is taken out of effect

I don't know what the DeYoung is, but if it's a place to play losing games so the DeVos winning streak can keep in tact, then I suggest the Hope/Calvin men's basketball game also be scheduled for the DeYoung. :-*

Ouch SAC, that's low.   I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be a K football coach. 55 +/-  guys on the roster to start the season?

What can you say. Hard to compete against a school who's  lower admission standards let you get in 55-freshman each year, no?

"Admission standards" blah blah blah aside... You know as well as we do, if K gave a rip about having a football team worth a darn, they would find a bunch of GOOD "smart" recruits. Besides, the "dumber" 55 +/- Hope footballers each season has only netted a whopping 2 outright league championships since 1990 and 0 postseason wins.

When was the last MIAA football win in the NCAA tourney???

Pat Coleman

The last MIAA win in the postseason, by my records, was 1994 when Albion won Stagg Bowl XXII.

That seems wrong ... but when I went through the years that was what I got.

Correct

1996   Albion lost to Illinois Wesleyan, 23-20
1998   Albion lost to Mount Union, Ohio, 21-19
1999   Alma lost to Wittenberg, Ohio, 42-19
2000    Hope lost to Hanover, Ind., 20-3
2002    Alma lost to Wheaton, Ill., 42-14
2003    Hope lost to Wheaton, Ill., 55-45
2004    Alma lost to Carthage, Wisc., 31-28
2005    Albion lost to Wabash, Ind., 38-20

A couple of close ones in there, but by and large the MIAA doesn't even come close to competeing nationally in football like they do in basketball.

Overall, the league is 5-15 in NCAA play.  Only Albion has ever won an NCAA tournament game with 1 in 93 and their great run in 94 to the Championship.

Did anyone else recognize the MIAA basketball ref that was the referee for the MSU - OSU football game on Saturday?

Looks like he spent the off season working out at the Old Country Buffet

Don't get me started, Al!! It's Todd Geerlings, one of the worst refs ever to wear the stripes in the MIAA.  He has a thing against Kzoo, not really sure why, but K is always, always on the short end when he's doing the game.

Shockingly enough, he's  a Hope grad    :-\

He's not one of Kurt Soderberg's favorites either.

And trust me - no one I know of at Hope is a big fan of his officiating either.

On another topic - I'm pumped about the teams all getting going today - I'll be watching the Dutchmen workout this evening.
