Just found this team interesting, when Arizona decided to eliminate JC football, this private team was formed.
The came to the southland and played JV games against UR and LV (got boat raced by both) A few UR kids from the JV game got more varsity reps due to their performance. I wish the SCIAC had a true JV league.

Part of the Athletic Strategic plan, when Maynard was at UR back in 2019, was to expand the locker room to accommodate a JV team.  That way they could get 30-40 more boys a year.  Since that fundraising campaign took a crap, it never came to fruition.

Bulldogs wrapped spring football yesterday. Any reports from the ground in Redlands?

Spring Ball in D3 is boring, I did hear you can wear shoulder pads and helmets for spring ball, I don't know the  restrictions, but if JC football in CA can wear full pads in spring, D3 should push for it just from a perception to recruits.

Word out of Chapman Football, Coach O is hanging it up after a football career that spanned over five decades.

He won SCIAC championships(6 I believe) at two different schools as a head coach. He was a tremendous coach and mentor to many.

Chapman is losing a great one!

Bob Owens Retiring at Chapman

Good coach and well deserved retirement. Leading Whittier to a Co-SCIAC championship with Redlands in 1998 when the Dawgs were at the height of power is his best coaching accomplishment. The Chapman job is attractive and should have a lot of interest.

Good Man, always liked coach Owens. Sad to see him leave, given the timing (right after spring ball and recruiting) I hope his health is well.

Few days late on this but Bob Owens is an awesome dude and a fantastic football coach. He had some war daddy teams at Whittier and made Chapman a consistent force in the SCIAC. He's also a really nice guy and super recruiter who genuinely cares about his players.

Pure class. Enjoy your retirement, Coach!

Redlands promotes the hell out of their summer camp schedule. Maybe take some of that effort, and learn from the coaches there, and put a better offensive product on the field. Counting on two easy wins against a terrible La Verne program is not acceptable and things need to change.
