Small FB update

I am hear UR is going to scrimmage a JC team this fall, prior to the first game. I know CU scrimmages Golden West of which is a real challenge give Golden West is a nationally ranked JC team, very big and fast. I have seen in person.
I think the Regals still scrimmage College of the Canyons. I know other used to scrimmage JCs. I think its a great opportunity

Dr. Doolittle

CLU football typically scrimmages Moorpark College, if I recollect.  Golden West is strong

olddog

Just a short update. UR will scrimmage Antelope Valley College on 8.22 at 7pm.

There is be a tailgate party, beer ? and meet the coaches before the scrimmage. Antelope went 10-1 last year, considered a good program in the JC world but not in the class of Golden West, Saddleback, Ventura College. It will be a good test for UR.

It means no accountability, the Liberal Way...Poor Admin, Poor HC Hires and Process to hire , Covid Shut down (no kings ya right), just another long line of bad formula brought on by the libs....

No reason that place field a good team, tons of talent in the area. Old Dog played on that field back when stadium was twice as big against an ex NFL qb,....If you remember Steve Young and the LA Express played their last few games their in 85' before the league died.

Sad that being accountable is not needed to have a good job working for the Gov in CA.

Rat, classic flip move just like the wife ...very weak too, ignore facts/results..bring in emotions and flip it back...always blame the orange man, dont be upset at yourself or who you voted for...I am not a fan of him too how do you like them apples but I am real... he is gone soon, those programs will live on forever and lib legacy embedded itself and destroyed CA.

See OCC to name another FB school, just like PC, no reason for it to go so far down hill. Poor leadership, Golden West is in the same district as OCC, and they are a nationally ranked team. So blaming the Org Man excuse is weak. Being soft and accepting being is a looser... blame...excuses are like rear ends..

It's a put up or shut up season for Jim Good at Redlands. He's had plenty of time to get the program right and he needs a SCIAC title this year to stay in the job in my personal opinion.

Men's basketball and Women's softball show that leadership can change things significantly at Redlands, so if he can't get it done this year it's time to move on.

I agree it seams since a certain person has left the athletics program there is a sense we can do better across the board. I am not sure why but the evidence is at our feet.

100% agree.  He got the Head Coach job same time as the Men's Basketball coach got to UR.  Men's basketball has grown exponentially, while football has fallen on very hard times.  Look at both Jim and the basketball coaches previous head coaching jobs.  Jim Good, awful, basketball coach, great.  Maybe past experience means something, like we all said when Jim Good was given the job.

I think we can all agree that Coach Good should be—and probably is—on the hot seat. Redlands' defense always seems to show up, but the offense has been really bad in recent years. I'm not sure if the OC they hired a couple of springs ago is going to be able to turn things around. At this point, though, there really aren't many excuses. Their QB is returning, and they've now had multiple years in the same offensive system.

I agree with everything in this take. He has had plenty of time. Other sports are excelling at Redlands like never before. Showing improvement can't be the standard this year. Win the SCIAC or get someone else in who can get the program back to where it belongs.

On a side note, if Redlands does move on they need to give honest consideration to DC Joey Mariani. I know he doesn't have college HC experience (he was a successful high school HC FWIW) or a flashy resume but he has the defense ready every year no excuses. Not saying they should just hand him the job, but he should get a real look.

That's a convenient option that's not thinking big enough. I would be okay with keeping Coach Mariani on as DC but need a HC with a successful track record in hand already. Redlands should be able to attract that.

It seems like we don't have many CLU guys on here, but I would imagine they're starting to get frustrated with their head coach, similar to what we're seeing at Redlands.

It looks like APU and Whittier are both going to have healthy roster numbers this year—potentially 100+ players—which is great to see for two programs bringing football back. APU's roster has a ton of bounce-back and JUCO players, so it'll be interesting to see how quickly everything comes together. I'm assuming Whittier will have a similar makeup, but we probably won't know for sure until their roster is posted online. La Verne looks like they'll be somewhere around 85 players.

How do you think the SCIAC shakes out this year? Any predictions on how teams are going to do?
