It ceases to amaze me. OC year two and it's the same unimaginative offense that we have seen for years at Redlands. 10-29 passing, 3 yards per play and shut out. Whitworth coming to town is not a good thing for the Bulldogs. This has to be rock bottom. Never mind, APU, Cal Lu and Chapman in the coming weeks. 0-5 is very likely.

Game review
The QB might be the worst qb Redlands has run out there in a long time. Misses easy throws that high school kids make. OL is fat and slow, again. Saw counter get chased down from behind a few times. Defense was put in bad situations constantly. Tackling wasn't great, but no doubt Mariani will get that fixed. Special teams was a D-  missed fg, punt was blocked, and was not ready for a surprise onside. So bad.

The Good, the bad and the ugly. UR FOOTBALL


1) Team this team looked disorganized, had trouble getting special teams on the field, had trouble getting plays in, burned timeouts...I have seen most JV HS teams get plays in quicker and know who is on special teams. Maynard must have thrown up watching it. We looked like we did not know #52 was the one of the Watt brothers. No chips, no doubles...we tried to run at him and our line was so slow he jumped around them and dip back in.

2) Who are we recruiting?  it is clear admin has changed the direction of the type of kid the school wants. You no longer are getting the middle class and upper middle class players from parts of the IE, OC, North LA County and Ventura County. A huge hit to the talent pool, which was UR bread and butter.  Who are we recruiting ? the slow and heavy kids. I know there are better athletes in the IE than we have. Not a lot of talent.

3) This team has no studs, with the exception of the RB (maybe). The  O line should have been on the jab all fall.
Slow heavy feet, one kick slide and they are cooked. I beg for the QB to stick his heal in the ground and throw, he  can not move and throw well. A ton of work on offense, What was our plan Saturday night?

4) The D, it is not bad we just do not have any studs. The d line is the worse line I have seen and they got off maybe a few blocks to make a play, D line has always been strong at UR the last 15 years. A couple of the backers are decent, the inverts are mid, FS played well. If they fix one corner they will get better. 
One of the corners, I will not post his number made them all world, my god...he was all we had.

 Prepare for a ton of short fields this year Mariani  ...our punter make sure you rest before the game.

Danny Ragsdale had to move to WR to get on the field before his record setting tenure as Redlands QB.

The program has been gutted. Hire a mediocre head coach and don't be surprised when mediocre results follow.

Goode's excuse was that he had to be the OC too.  Now he has an OC and they have managed to get worse offensively.  Gonna be a long year in Bulldog land.  At least the AD that made the HC hire got enshrined in the Hall of Fame at Redlands while the football team has to meander in the maze of mediocrity.
