tags I'm allowed to have my opinoins of teams...I don't like their cockyness

Not to beat a dead horse, but they are probably the least cocky team in the league.  The only reason anyone even knew about the Pats dancing on the SD field after the game is because LT made a scene and whined about it and other players had to dig him out.

No one ever talks about the other times the Pats were talked down during the week and then did stuff on the field (eagles, steelers, Jacksonville)  And thats because those teams talked during the week and then sucked it up when they lost.  So no one ever heard about 3 Patriots players celebrating on the field after the game for 45 seconds.

Thanks JU - Well said.

I'm sorry to see the Pep-TGP rivalry ended!

Say wha?  This rivalry ain't dead yet!

TGP sees AU on the 2007 Bart scked:

http://www.hws.edu/athletics/hobart/football/schedule.asp

The 2008 Bart sked so far has only has 8 games and TGP has to think at least 1 if not 2 dates are TBD (9/13 and 10/18 are open dates).

AU will play at Hobart this year (2007). However, Hobart is dropping AU in 2008. It appears AU will be meeting UR regularly beginning in 2008. The UR-AU game in the ECAC Bowl was a classic!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

We are eh?  Interesting that it always seems that Bart is doing the dropping and not the other way around.

Oh well.  Too bad - schools are close by and have produced some great contests over the years.

Since this board is obviously the haunt of many  refined gentlemen of good taste, Spiedie wants to know if he should spend his money to see "Children of Men" at the cineema.

Also, just how cold will it get tonight. Any sub-zero readings out there?

I saw this movie about a week ago.  It was good, not great.  It did have great cinemetography tho.  (spellcheck)  It did pose an interesting question with regards to the environment and its depletion with regards to the human body and reproductive systems.  Little far fetched but entertaining.  Also, some of the religious ironies were witty.

I'd like to see bart and fisher start playing again but I don't see it happening anytime soon with Fisher adding MUC in 08 they won't get rid off UofR or Brockport...and you always need a cupcake like Mt Ida...I would say that maybe bart over brockport considering the distances aren't too far off....but again that is a schedule that is insane considering we still have to deal with Ithaca Springfield and Alfred...that's what makes the e8 so so tough...the top 3 could all make a run to salem anygiven year...and Alfred is an up and coming team...that could possibly beat any team in the country if they play their A game...Ithaca this year...fisher last year

Yeah, blame it on Bart!

Don't know of any institutions that benefit much from playing at Alfred. No media coverage except the Alfred Sun and perhaps the "other paper." AUPepBand would like to see webcasts at AU, which is also a desire of AU President Charley Edmondson.

AU also in dire need of beefed up facilities. A field house at the north end of Merrill Field (where the original fieldhouse once stood) could provide a training facility and team(s) lockerrooms. Visiting team buses could park in the Motor Pool lot and a walkway built over the oh-so-wide Kanakadea Creek for a nearly front-door drop-off for Merrill Field. Still waiting for that check from Sarge....U.S. Postal Service misplace it?

The Truth 00

here's a situation to think about:

there's this problem going on with one of my best friends. we'll call him Ed. we pretty much have only one girl-friend from home. we'll call her suzy. well, ed and suzy were supposed to go to new york on new years to meet up with some friends at this bar. the cost of the ticket was $150. ed asked suzy, suzy said "yes i'm in. buy the ticket." ed buys 2 tix for $300. well....1 day before they are supposed to leave, suzy backs out. she gives no valid reason other than she doesn't want to go anymore and spend $150 on the ticket, plus additional nyc costs. problem: tickets were already bought. ed, being the nice guy that he is, says he'll try to find someone to take the ticket so she isn't in the hole on it or he'll try and "scalp" it. neither plan works.

underlying facts: suzy's parents have money. she is in law school around here but there doesn't seem to be any lacking funds when she goes out and buys a new coach purse. ed is in business school, on his own, thus lacking the parental funds to support him. she officially told ed today that she didn't think she had to pay him the money. keep in mind: they've been good friends for about 10 years and we are the ones she hangs out with. what does ed do in this situation?

this is open-ended, no multiple choice. i'm sorry but i'm pretty fired up right now and i don't have any more book recommendations....

+k back at you Truth.

Suzy owes Ed said ticket fare, or in exchange a year supply of dishes & laundry... with some dinners sprinkled in.

Ed needs to play it cool w/ suzy... don't even mention it after today. Even when she goes and buys another overpriced coach bag. Even when she flaunts mom and pop's money. And then, months or maybe even years from now Ed and Suzy will get drunk, hook up, and Ed will unleash the fury (i.e. donkey punch).

if you want to stay friends she needs to pony up on some of the money....maybe not all...but this is an important lesson always get money in advance or have a signed agreement
