I hope everyone in the E8 universe has a very Merry Christmas, except for the Ithaca people of course (Just Kidding!).

Seriously though, Merry Christmas to everyone here (including Pat, of course, for making this all possible!).

:) :) :) :)

Congrats to Buff State on their National title!  ;) ( I saw this on Twitter)  ;D
Of course there are such paths for many other teams but this is the one I saw and I love these things.  :P

Now wait just a minute here.....ALFRED defeated Buffalo State, 29-26, so that means that ALFRED is Alabama! Woohoo! I must share this with one of our English faculty members who is an Alabama alum and a big Crimson Tide fan and will be tickled to know she works at a University whose football team is better than her alum's.

On Saxon Warriors!

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Yeah I was going to mention any team that beat Buff State would be further down the chain. Congrats to the Saxons! Lol

To be fair, there are a million ways to do it. W&L knocked off RMC, so you could slot them in there as well. But yes, lots of fun to be had.

We can thank E&H to providing the avenue for many East and south teams

Maryville also beat first year program ETSU. So they provide a different tree.

SJF Def Coord MIke Fox has been named new Def Coord at Brockport. Brockport must have fired Glen Young and scooped up Mike Fox. Good hire..I'd say. Brockport must have deep pockets. This is the 2nd or 3rd full time asst they have poached from a rival . 2 former coaches from Cortland and now Fox at SJF. Unless there is more to the story of course. I heard Brockport was not happy with their DC after the season.

It doesn't surprise me that Fox left for another opportunity, but I am surprised he didn't take a step toward a head coaching job. I think he is a heck of a coordinator, and figured he would move somewhere to take the next step, but switching from DC at Fisher to DC at Brockport? I would guess money had something to do with it.
GO FISHER!!!

As a lateral move it is curious and likely mostly monetary. Perhaps he wanted a change without having to relocate. Fisher to Brockport doesn't require a big move. Also, You never know what goes on with interpersonal relationships among coaches.

I am excited though and hope the defense improves as a result!

I think it will. Fisher's D got a lot better when he came on staff several years ago, but I actually think one of his better coaching jobs was this past year. The Fisher D at the beginning of the year and the Fisher D at the end of the year were not on the same planet. Not that the defensive unit was amazing at the end of the year, but they had obviously been coached up from where they were.

Fox usually has a pretty good scheme, and does a lot with the personnel he has.

Already on the Brockport Facebook page. Glen Young is still on staff I guess..relegated to the bottom of the coaches page..with a vague title of "Assistant Football Coach"

Ex Ithaca OC Brian Angelichio survives  his firing from Cleveland (along w rest of staff)..and lands TEs job with Green Bay Packers. From the outhouse to the penthouse I'd say. Ironically Brian was a Cleveland Browns fan growing up.
