Fisher out to prove that they should have been chosen and that Fburg shouldnt have jumped them in the Rrs? ;D

At least out to prove that they should have been the first pool C hopeful on the board for the East region.

As impressive as Fisher historically performs in the NCAA tournament, I would submit that they are unimpressive in the ECACs.  You can argue whatever reason you want as to why...but here are their recent results:

2005 - Lost 26-22 to RPI
2008 - Won 17-7 vs Husson
2009 - Won 34-20 vs Cortland
2010 - Won 56 - 13 vs RPI
2012 - Won 63-7 vs Castleton
2014 - Won 28-14 vs West Conn
2015 - Lost 42-21 to Westminster

That's actually not quite as bad now that I wrote it out.  Maybe I'm having some recency bias with the West Conn and Westminster games.  I also remember watching the 2008 win over Husson and thinking it was such an uninspired performance.

Husson- They played their Sr QB most of the game and not Bailey for some reason (can't remember if he played or not)

West Conn- Fenti went down vs AU the week before and they started Caton. The passing offense sputtered but they were able to win the game on the ground.

Westminster- Yeah they just got their doors blown off. That offense last year was actually pretty bad, they couldn't run the ball at all vs Westminster and had no answer for Westminster's QB who honestly is kind of like Johnson from AU.

I hope they are focused and bring the A game
I understand that the ECACs are a letdown, but there is still one extra game

I think the pomp and circumstance the ECACs are bringing to the table with swag, trophies, etc will make them more exciting and of bigger and better interest to the players and their families compared to prior years. The student athletes we spoke to this season from WPI and RPI spoke very positively of the experience last year in CT.

FSU's offense doesn't look that imposing, or good for that matter. They've topped 31 points twice this year, both times were vs teams that were 2-8 and 3-7.

If Fisher can put up points on offense vs a great FSU defense then I think they can come away with it.

Nice thing is it will end the discussion as to who was better, not on paper, but actually on the field.

fisheralum91

Yes it will indeed.
That was the first thing i thought of when i saw the pairing.

From everything I've read from the MUC guys, there are serious question marks about this team. If Sweeney and Shed get hot I can see it happening. Just have to play sound on defense, usually a Hobart staple!

You're in the dance and that's all that matters!

Yes, I would. However, if Fisher is going to an ECAC game this is a pretty cool one for me at least. I did my post grad work at Penn, and it would be cool to see my undergrad school playing at my post grad institution. The stadium is enormouw, but the campus and atmosphere around the stadium are really awesome. It is a cool place to watch a game, and the stadium feels as historical as it is. Should be fun.
GO FISHER!!!

Sounds awesome....good luck...a great way for the Cardinals to cap a solid season.......you guys have a great program ......Hobart team is super psyched for Saturday ..... coaches need to put together a solid plan against a great coaching staff

Bartman- do the east proud and take care of biz on home field!

I am so impressed with this match up.  It will go far to see just how well the NJAC and Empire 8 match up.  If Wesley wasn't playing, I would most definitely go to watch this one.  You talk about relevant!
