I kind of like the Bombers being picked "third" by somebody....Dunkel is it....?
Big year at IC, Coach Ang off to PITT...great move, much deserved...and I have to believe that Coach Welch has the team working hard.

The team really has to step up...the bullseye is bigger than ever.....off season is the season for right now....practice sounds liek it's going very well right now.

Really need a quick start before traveling "up" to Rochester for Fisher and Brockport...

The "new" guys from Bama may be a surprise...if the squad isn't ready to light things up.

Defenese will have to take a step...and I think with some of the injured players from last year healed and itching to hit somebody...they may hold the key...

still early I know, but if Chaz is back at Alfred and Mr. Robinson is back at Fisher.....it will be WAR every weekend.....

Do we really have to wait another 4 MONTHS?

Well, jonny, I believe Dunkel is already six feet under so you'd have to dig him up to punch him in the face. I got the following link by googling Dunkel:

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/comment/jzcol21.htm

The Dunkel Index has been around since 1929, created by Madison Avenue businessman Dick Dunkel Sr. Since there was no Associated Press poll until 1935, Dunkel wanted to know which college football team was the best. His ratings, like Matthews', were done with - oh horror of horrors - pencil and paper.

John Duck, a data programmer at the News-Journal in Daytona Beach, Fla., oversees the index now. He believes the Dunkel Index is one of, if not the, best computer rating in existence.

"The reason I can say that is that I can point to the accuracy of our ratings because the higher rated team beats the lower rated team on a weekly basis," Duck said. "The success rate is between 72 and 77% per week. The margin or error is low because we've been doing it for 70 years."

Like Massey, Duck is a college football fan, a Florida Gators fan to be more precise.

"I'm a Gator. I'll die a Gator. I bleed orange and blue. But the computer doesn't care," Duck said.

So jonny, it's Duck you're after, and apparently, he lives in Daytona Beach. I offer this warning to the current Dunkel Index overseer......"DUCK!"

Daytona Beach huh?  Utah, don't sweat it, we will send a former Bomber Assistant SID that is down there to set this straight.  She has been known to bust a few media skulls.

I think I've silenced the E8 posters. Where is everyone?

PepBand,

Finishing up another year of classes and looking for a teaching job that will put me closer to the E8 action than Phoenix!

Ithaca folks,

Has there been any word on who is replacing Angelichio?

Yellowhat,

Good luck with finals. Hope your job search goes well and you land something in NY. Would be nice to see you at Merrill Field in November with your First Down Club!

AU is in the midst of it all this week...library is open til 3 a.m. and I'm brewing up coffee and serving cookies to keep everyone pumped up with sugar and caffeine! Doing what I can to reduce the stress of it all!

Wonder if anyone has heard about little Tasker?

Which will it be....walk-on at Notre Dame (although a son of Steve Tasker certainly should get some immediate attention) or a star at D3 Ithaca? If there's a college with a more illustrious football tradition than Ithaca, certainly Notre Dame is it.

Wow.  Seems to be a theme this offseason in the E8.  Any Fisher fans have an idea as to who's in line to be the new O.C.?

If I had to take a guess, I'd probably say its either going to be Coach Scacchetti or Coach Lanning.

Thanks for the good wishes PepBand.  I'm officially done with school and have a phone interview set up for a potential job offering later this week.  I'd love to get back and watch NY football live again, although I did like XMI :)
